A/N- the aurora borealis are lights in the sky as shown in the picture. The fan art is Nico obviously ha ha.

Imagine... watching aurora borealis with Nico after a busy day.

It was the day before St. Patrick's day, the sun was just setting. Earlier that morning, you saw a news broadcast talk about the aurora borealis. At first you hadn't known what it was, but after they showed a small time lapse video from the past recordings, you wanted to see it.

You've heard of the northern lights, and how people would describe the beautiful. You wanted to see it for yourself, and experience it with someone you love.

You walked through the woods. "Come on, ghost boy," you called to your boyfriend. "Hurry up, or we'll miss it."

You eagerly skipped ahead of your boyfriend as he lugged two heavy blankets, a pair of binoculars, a camera, and his backpack. You were confused on why he brought his backpack.

"I'm trying, (y/n)," mumbled Nico, trying not to let anything fall. "If you helped--"

"Fine, fine," you rolled your eyes, taking a heavy blanket and camera from him. "Now, you have no excuse to complain." You took Nico's hand, tugging him along. You began at a jogging pace, ignoring Nico's requests to slow down.

You and Nico jumped over logs and massive rocks only the sizes of a medium dog.

The two of you began to trudge up a hill, already out of breath.

"Can we take a small break?" Nico placed a hand on his heaving chest, clearing his throat.

You ran a hand through his black hair, pushing it back. "'Course, Nico," you said, placing a small kiss at his lips. "Anything for you."

Nico's lips curled up at the corners. He wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you to his side. You and your boyfriend walked the rest of the way up the hill, instead of running.

For a seventeen year-old demigod, Nico was kind of lazy when it comes to running. He shadow travels for everything.

You spread a blanket out on the grass, Nico rummaging through the backpack he brought.

Just as you sat down, Nico took a seat next to you.

"Look." Nico pointed to the darkening sky. "It's happening."

He took out his camera, taking pictures.

You looked up, wondering what was running through Nico's mind.

The sky glowed vibrant green and reds, mixed with purple hues.

You stared in awe. The descriptions you had heard were nothing in comparison.

It was beyond beautiful.

"You almost done, ghost boy?" You wrapped your arms around his torso, your gaze remaining on the sky.

"Yeah," Nico said. "I only need one more for it to be complete." He lifted the camera up in the air, holding it so both of you fit the frame.

He snapped the picture. "Perfect," he gave you a crooked grin.

"Not yet," you mumbled into his chest, inhaling his scent. You gently pushed him on to his back, cuddling closer to him. He intertwined his hand with yours.

"Now, it is," you sighed in content, leaning to kiss him.

"I love you, (y/n)." Nico hugged you tighter.

"I love you, too, ghost boy," you said, enjoying the comfort of his warmth as you stared at the lights.

Sorry that it's short. I normally don't make them this short.

Virias's version of older Nico is hot if you ask me ;)

This is my favorite one shot of Nico so far.
