Imagine . . . Aphrodite trying to make your love life just slightly more difficult.
Aphrodite sat in her throne, her fingers tapping the arm rest. Her hair hung in perfect ringlets, framing her face. The other Olympians socialized closely, communing with each other.
Aphrodite had always been one for love.
She loved the sight of mortals falling in love. But when it came to demigods falling in love... she tended to make things... interesting.
She enjoyed putting obstacles in the way. There have to be some bumps in the road before you can necessarily achieve something. That something is the love between (y/n) (l/n) and Leo Valdez. She didn't exactly want them to be together, but at the same time she did.
She enjoyed seeing them bicker with each other, and then make up in the end. Yes, it may be common for the fight and make up to happen, but it's different between (y/n) and Leo.
They had a special way for it to go down. Leo would always be the one to start the fight, yet (y/n) would always apologize for no reason. In the end, Leo would construct something for her to say he's sorry for ever fighting.
Aphrodite didn't want to see some sappy romance today.
She had... other plans.

"Thank you, Leo," you smiled at him. "I love it."
Minutes ago he gave you a rose made out of metal.
You thought it was beautifully crafted, the rose petals curving perfectly. The surface was smooth.
Leo placed hooked his fingers on his suspenders, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
The two of you were by the water. You kept looking at yourselves reflection, wondering how you looked in Leo's eye's.
"(Y/n)," Leo spoke softly.
All you could think was, is he going to ask me out now?
"Yes, Leo?"
"I-I've been wondering... i-if you would--"
A joyful and peppy voice interupted him, "Children!" It didn't sound like it was scolding the two of you, but more like a greeting. "Hello!"
You and Leo shared a confused look as two Olympians stood in front of you.
A goddess with long straight blonde hair and large kaleidoscope eyes that reminded you of Piper McLean.
The other god had a brown scruffy beard, the ends of his beard lighting up with fire. He had an angular face, scars running down the sides.
Why were Hephaestus and Aphrodite standing here? You didn't know.
"Uh...Dad?" Leo came forward. "What exactly... are you doing here?"
"Well son." Hephaestus placed a hand on his son's shoulder. "Let's go for a walk." He started guiding Leo away from you.
Now only you and the love goddess remained. This can't be good, you thought.
"(Y/n)," the goddess smiled. "We have things to discuss."
"Uh, alright?" You were confused about what the goddess wanted to speak about.
The goddess snapped her fingers.
The world spun around, making it hard to stand. Suddenly you were sitting in a chair getting a pedicure.
Aphrodite sat next to you, getting a pedicure also.
She read a magazine. The cover showing a picture of a pissed Apollo trying to cover his face. In bright red bold letters it said, BUSTED AGAIN BY HIS DADDY??
There was still some chaos surrounding Apollo and the punishment he was receiving from father after the war with Gaea.
You found the cover a little amusing, making a mental note to tell your friends.
"So darling," Aphrodite spoke, "tell me about the boy that has your eye."
"About . . . Leo?"
The goddess nodded. Her nose was deep enough, it could get stuck in the magazine.
You didn't see any point in lying to Aphrodite, after all she is the goddess of love. "I like him," you stated the obvious.
"Yes I know, dear," Aphrodite smiled.
"Then why exactly am I here?"
"You need some girl time," Aphrodite said. "No girl can spend every minute with a boy she likes."
You wanted to say she was wrong, but you knew better than to sass the goddess.
The goddess glanced at her wrist. "Oh, look at the time! It's time to go!"
Before you could mention she wasn't wearing a watch, she snapped her fingers again.
Suddenly you were back, standing by the water with Leo. The Olympians were no where in sight.
There was a mob of kids near by, Aphrodite kids to be exact. They dragged both you and Leo to different parts of Camp Half-Blood for the entire day.
They kept muttering mother this, mother ordered them, or mother said that.
You had a feeling Aphrodite was up to this. Finally, the group of kids let you be free by the time dinner rolled in.
When you saw Leo, you went up to him.
Then a thought hit you: what happened to the rose Leo crafted for you?
You felt guilty for losing the rose Leo worked hard on.
The two of you walked around, and eventually, you found yourselves in a secluded area by the docks.
You weren't in the mood to risk getting ambushed by the Aphrodite kids again.
Leo fidgeted with his suspenders, wearing a lazy grin. "Today was crazy."
"It really was," you agreed.
In that brief silence, Leo trembled as he reached out to hold your hands. His chocolate brown eyes had a slight glint in them. It made your heart pound inside your chest.
"I never got to ask if... if... " Leo's voice trailed off, his hands turned clammy in yours.
Don't do it! yelled Aphrodite in your head.
"I-if you would be my girlfriend?" Leo stared at you with pink tainted cheeks. Leo took out the rose from earlier, the center of the flower unfolding to reveal a tiny slip of paper.
You respond by kissing him straight on the lips.
Leo wore a goofy smile. "I take that as a yes?" His nose caught on fire, but he immediately noticed and pat the flame out.
You giggled. "Of course, Valdez."
