Imagine . . . going to Awesomecon with Leo and Jason in Washington D.C.
"Do I have to wear this?" Jason looked at the Captain America costume he wore that matched with the shield he carried.
The three of you were in your hotel room, the one you all shared.
"Yes, you have to, man." Leo patted him on the shoulder after throwing you a glance. "We all have to."
"Jason, I already paid for the tickets," you rolled your (e/c) eyes, adjusting his mask and tucking his blonde hair underneath so it couldn't be seen. "You know, I can always ask Percy to join me instead as Aqua--"
"I'm going, I'm going," he said, but glanced down at his costume. "But . . . I feel ridiculous. Couldn't we have picked a less ridiculous costume like . . . I don't know. Something a little less . . . You know, outfits that don't stand out and draw attention? Perhaps dress as the Golden Trio?"
"Look on the bright side, you'll have plenty of fangirls swooning over you, Cap," you winked, but your eyes couldn't help but trail up and down his body (and behind). The suit definitely complimented him in the same way it did to Chris Evans, the man who portrayed Captain America in the Marvel movies.
Jason nervously met your eyes when he realized you were checking him out.
Things were . . . complicated between you two. Of course, he liked you and you liked him but he also liked Piper. You've spent the past few months residing at Camp Half-Blood, wanting a change in scene for a little. A mini vacation and adventure, while meeting your new half siblings.
If it weren't for Percy Jackson, you wouldn't have met Leo. Although, you've spent a lot of your time with Leo during your stay and it's led to unwanted feelings . . . This very boy made you feel special and brought laughter and joy to your life, and cared about you when Jason neglected and made you feel unwanted due to his duties. You respected his responsibilities although you craved his attention and affection. You valued different things in each boy, which made it difficult to understand which one you liked more. It's a gigantic mess between the four of you, which was why this entire "thing" was unresolved. It brought a lot of hurt specifically between you and Jason. It's driven a small wedge of competition and jealousy between he and Leo.
You're a Roman, so you knew Jason before everyone else. He was a close friend. You liked him before the war and he liked you. Reyna was never in the picture. Things changed once he disappeared. You became desperate to find him after many months.
By the time Jason had returned to Camp Jupiter, he had a girlfriend, but that fact alone didn't stop you from trying to retrieve what once was yours. You were determined.
You looked to the son of Hephaestus, who clearly pretended not to notice anything, not wanting to bring up tension. "Your turn, Valdez!" You grinned, slightly regretting bringing these two boys on the trip together. "Time to get you suited."
Leo constructed his costume in the Forges at Camp Half-Blood. He's supposed to be dressed as Iron Man. Leo carefully crafted his suit down to the very detail with precision and took much pride in his costume.
So when Leo came out of the bathroom dressed, you couldn't help but be amazed by how realistic and intricate his costume was. He even modeled for you and Jason and pretended to be strut down a runway.
