Imagine . . . stargazing with Percy.
You were new to Camp Half-Blood, arriving at the age of fourteen. Unlike everyone else, who arrives at a younger age.You are some what... different than most demigods. You are a child of (g/p).
"Maybe it's because I can't do anything right," you mumble to yourself as you stood near the docks.
It was nightfall, you should have been in your cabin asleep with your other siblings. You enjoyed gazing at the stars every night, taking in the beauty of the sky.
"(Y/n)?" You recognized that husky voice, it was no other than, Percy Jackson.
The big hot shot at camp you've noticed.
He gave you a tour of camp when you first arrived after being attacked by a manticore. "What are you doing out this late?"
Although you have been at this demigod camp for three or four weeks, you've developed a tiny crush on the son of Poseidon. You couldn't help but admire those dreamy sea green colored eyes and his black tousled hair. He's only a year older, you thought, I still have a chance.
"The question is, what are you doing out this late?" You heard the pounding of your heart. You felt like it was doing somersaults.
Percy's lips tugged at the corners, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he smiled. "Touché, (l/n)." His expression turned mildly serious. "No, really, what are you doing out this late?"
"Star gazing," you replied as you spotted the Big Dipper. You admired the beauty of nature. To your please, you want to travel the world someday and take pictures. But you couldn't possibly do that, considering that you're a demigod and live a dangerous life.
Percy leaned on the railing next to you. "I came here to do the same thing."
It surprised you as the words came out of his mouth.
In your eyes, he's popular and loved by almost everyone in the camp. But you're... just . . . you. You're a bit socially awkward. You envied how easily your older and younger siblings could befriend anyone.
You wished it could be that easy for you.
Percy placed a hand on your shoulder and pointed to the sky. His touch gave you goosebumps along your skin. You felt like a cat had your tongue.
He smelled like the ocean, like his fathers element.
You desperately wanted to kiss those lips, but you had to restrain yourself.
"See that?" Percy asked with a sad smile, as he pointed a constellation that looked like a girl. "That's Zoë Nightshade, she was a hunter of Artemis. One of the greatest Artemis ever had."
Percy smiled down at you, your eyes flicked to his lips. You thought he looked handsome with the moonlight cascading over part of his face. His facial features looked sharpened with the partial light that was available.
Slowly, he leaned forward. Without thinking, you pressed your lips against his.
To your astonishment, he kissed back.
.........................
"Stars," she whispered, "I can see the stars again, my lady."
-Zoë Nightshade's final words
