Imagine . . . being a soldier in the Trojan war.

Warning: violence, blood.
Read at your own risk.

You were strolling aimlessly through a beautiful village after having met with another General of a commanding army nearby, seeking to form an alliance against the Greeks also known as the Archaeans.

There was a war arising.

Paris, the Prince of Troy had stolen someone greatly valuable, a beautiful lady named Helen. It was putting the city of Troy at risk.

Yet, the Archaeans were getting antsy, demanding the return of the Spartan king's wife.

How did this involve you? It led to you trying to form alliances with other armies of cities and countries close by on behalf of your Commander, yet they all refused because they feared one man: Achilles.

There were stories spread about the famous hero throughout the mainland. He was invincible and could not be defeated.

You sat on a bench by the community well at the center of the village, where children played and people who were trying to make a living sold produce, meats, and bolts of cloth.

You approached a stall selling carrots next to a small house. Out came a tall young woman, fumbling with a crate of produce and dropped it on the ground, spilling carrots, apples, and cherry red tomatoes.

"Schist," she cursed under her breath, dropping to her knees.

You kneeled before her, helping her collect it all back in the crate to be washed again.

"Thank you," she sighed to herself, looking at you for the first time. She had gorgeous grey eyes that matched the stormy skies and blonde hair that reminded of you of Greek beaches. She glanced at the white linen dress you wore, noticing you were on your knees and soiling it. "I've never seen you around before, miss."

"Call me (y/n)," you smiled sheepishly and blushed, tucking a piece of your (h/c)  hair behind your ear. The beautiful young woman was as beautiful as a goddess.

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Annabeth."

And you continued to help her pick up the mess of produce, your hands touching briefly when you reached for the same carrot.

"You're not from around here, are you?" Annabeth said, studying you as you finished collecting the dirt-covered produce.

"No," you admitted. "I'm not. I just met with General Ramírez-Arellano."

Her eye lit up at the name of her friend.

Now, you laid in bed with Annabeth, holding her tightly as she slept next to you. You smiled at the memory of meeting Annabeth for the first time. It has been three years since you've met her.

You pulled her closer to you, her mess of curls tickling your face. It was early morning. The sun had just awoken, causing the roosters outside the house to roost and penetrate your thoughts.

It was time for you to return to report to an officer, only four hours away. You pulled off the warm woolen blanket and tucked her tightly.

Annabeth blindly reached for your hand and pulled you towards her. "Don't leave me," she pleaded groggily with her grey eyes still closed. "Stay?"
