The Wild Orchid

Chapter 3

              There was a long awkward silence in the room as Katherine left. After the doors closed behind her and she was out of sight Gabrielle said, "Phalen please come sit over here on the exam table." She did as instructed. Once she was sitting she noticed Gabrielle's name badge. The name badge had clearly printed on it Dr. Gabrielle Morgan. After being seated for a short while Dr. Morgan proceeded to do the most basic exam. Once that was done she said, "Phalen please put this hospital gown on so I can finish your exam." As Phalen stripped down to put the gown on she caught Gabrielle staring at her fit tattoo covered body. Phalen smirked then said, "Why Doctor, do you see something you like?" Gabrielle blushed a deep crimson red color.

               After putting the gown on Gabrielle took some blood samples that she needed to figure out Phalen's species of fae. After a bit of a wait Gabrielle exclaims, "Holy hell Phalen. By your blood work it shows that you are a succubus. I also notice there's an additional strand of DNA attached to your succubus genetics that I can't quite identify yet. It's possible the second strand needs to be activated somehow. Maybe it needs activation by a near death experience. I just don't know. Wish I did. You are a very rare species of fae and a very strong type of fae. Do you mind if I continue the final things needed to be done to finish your examination? You are absolutely breathtaking and gorgeous."

                  With a smile on her face she states, "Go ahead doctor. I don't mind. What are u looking for exactly?" After being given consent, Gabrielle runs her fingers slowly down Phalen's exposed back causing Phalen to shiver. While she continued she replied, "I'm looking for any form of identifying marks or clan markings or any unique birthmarks." As Gabrielle continued, she slowly traces Phalen's spine. Then she continues to run her hands and fingers down Phalen's body. All of a sudden in a split moment their eyes locked. Phalen had accidentally been touching Gabrielle's hand.  As both were leaning in to kiss Katherine walks in. When Katherine walks in Dr. Morgan snapped out of a trance like state. She cleared her throat and said, "The exam is complete. Phalen is a succubus. I've never had contact with such a remarkable creature before." Katherine smiled widely and replied, "She is quite remarkable isn't she. So rare and gorgeous. Phalen you may get dressed. Your tribunal will begin shortly. Thank you Dr. Morgan." While in a state of total panic Phalen looks at Gabrielle and says, "Tribunal, what the hell are tribunals?" 

                 Dr. Morgan gives her a reassuring smile and states, "You will be fine. They are just a few trials that both light and dark fae observe. They observe these trials to have fae choose a side. You are strong and will succeed. Get dressed now." Phalen looks down then lifts her head and says, "So your telling me that these tribunals are some sort of thunder dome for fae?" "Kinda. you'll be put up against two under fae. You can do this. You best get dressed and head to the tribunal location." Gabrielle says with a slight smile. Phalen smiles at her and finished dressing. Once dressed she meets up with kelcey. When she meets up with Kelcey she says, "Sis, they are going to put me through a tribunal. What the hell do I do? By the way what type of fae are you?" Kelcey smiles and replies, "I'm a wolf. Meaning, I can willingly turn myself into a wolf. My species are also referred to as wolf shifters. We have same father different mother. I need you to take strength from me. By doing this it will help you pass your tribunal."

                   Phalen looks at her sister confused and asks, "How the hell do I do that damn it? Are there different kinds of shifter fae?" Kelcey looks into Phalen's eyes and says, "I know we're sisters and all but, shut up and kiss me to take chi from me. Then as you do that inhale my chi. Yes there are different kinds of shifter fae." "What! Are you fucking crazy! Your my damn sister!" Phalen exclaims. Kelcey gives her sister a stern look and says, "Just shut up and do it. That way I know you will survive your damn tribunal. Please do it Phalen. I don't want to lose you. You are the only family I have left. So stop fucking procrastinating and do it." Hesitantly, Phalen does as instructed. While doing this her eyes turned a gorgeous sapphire blue color. Once it was done Phalen looked into her sisters eyes and said, "Holy fuck what a damn rush. That was like the fourth of July in my mouth. Would taking chi from any fae be a hit like that?" Her sister chuckled with that comment. Kelcey then replied, "Yes it would but, it also depends on what type of fae it is. Are you planning on exploring that concept?" Phalen replied, "Maybe." Phalen had only taken just enough chi to ramp up her strength. 

                   The next thing Phalen knew Katherine had come to grab her for her tribunal. She was then taken to an old abandoned warehouse. When she walked in she realized both light and dark fae were there. The leaders or second in command, of both the dark and light fae spoke to her trying to get her to choose their side. Once the chats were done the tribunal began. When she entered the arena she noticed the under fae she was against was huge in size. The only thing she could think to compare it to was a damn ogre or a giant. She looked over the weapons rack and chose her weapons. After that, the fight began. At first she kept her distance. Then all of a sudden she felt a sharp pain go through her body. The under fae ended up cutting her pretty badly. That enraged her. The match lasted aproximately 20 mins. With her rage in full swing she took it down and slit its throat.

                The leaders or second in command, of both sides, and both sides were quite impressed. Then the second fight ensued. This under fae however, went into her head by form of some kind of spikes or probes. While he did this he showed her the body count she had created. He said to her in the other relm, "I can help you stop this. Drink this and it will all end." With seeing this Kelcey became absolutely  horrified. She panicked and shouted, "Phalen he's killing you! Fight back damn it! I can't lose you! You're the only family I have left. I love you!"

                    At that moment Phalen snapped back to reality and shouted, "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HEAD YOU SON OF A BITCH!" With that she spun and slit his throat. He was defeated. Phalen then collapsed to the floor. Kelcey rushed to her sisters side. Phalen was totally conscious but lethargic. She then looked up and saw Katherine smiling at them. Katherine then spoke, "Well done Phalen. Well done. Now it's time to choose your side. Light or Dark?" Phalen looked up at Katherine and replied, "I mean no disrespect Katherine but I choose neither." Phalen paused slightly after saying that. During the pause the sound of shocked gasps rang throughout the warehouse. Phalen then continued, "I would like to stay unaligned for the time being. I may decide in the future. For now though, I'm not ready to decide or choose. I hope you understand." Katherine again smiled and replied, "I do understand. When you are ready let us know. Again, well done."

                After the tribunal was through Kelcey and Phalen returned to The Wild Orchid headquarters. When they arrived Katherine met them in the entry hall. She smiled brightly. Once the doors were closed and they were inside Katherine said, "I know you chose to stay unaligned for now but, I promised your sister I would protect you. So, with that being said, I would be honored if you took this. It is a chain with a wild orchid pendent on it. Will you please wear this?" Phalen smiled and replied,  "Thank you. I will wear this with pride. I truly appreciate everything you have done for me." Kathrine smiled and said, "I'd be honored if you would please stay here tonight. You are always welcome here. I will send you a feeding to help you heal. Goodnight."

                 After saying their good nights, Phalen was brought to her room. Once inside her room she noticed she was was injured worse then she thought. Her blue tank top was completely soaked in blood. Just as she took her shirt off to see the severity of her actual injury Gabrielle walked in. When Phalen realized this she tried to quickly put her shirt back on while wincing in pain. As she was trying to do this Gabrielle said, "Phalen keep it off. Katherine sent me to check you over and to help with any injuries I can. I see you have a pretty nasty laceration, but it's not deep enough for stitches. Please let me clean and bandage it." Phalen nodded in agreement.

                  After it was cleaned up and bandaged she looked directly into Gabrielle's eyes. While getting lost in Gabrielle's eyes she smiled at her. Phalen was so enthralled in her eyes that she gave into temptation. She leaned in and kissed Gabrielle. While kissing her she realized she was feeding. Once she realized this she pulled away and stated, "I can't. I'll hurt you or worse kill you. I wouldn't be able to live with that." Gabrielle smiled and replied, "You can if you can learn to control your hunger. By the way, I'll have to change that bandage tomorrow until you feed to heal." With that Dr. Morgan left the room with a smile on her face.
