The Wild Orchid

Chapter 5

                    The next morning, Phalen woke to starring into the mesmerizing emerald green eyes of a smiling Gabrielle. She smiled back and re-laid her head on Gabrielle's chest to continue listening to her heartbeat. Her soothing heartbeat caused Phalen to fall back to sleep. A few moments later, Katherine walked into the room. Gabrielle looked up and brought her finger to her lips to let Kathrine know "shhhhh" while she pointed at Phalen. Katherine went to Gabrielle's side of the bed, leaned down, and whispered in her ear, "If you two want to be together, I consent. First and foremost, we need to help her control her hunger so she can stop herself before it's too late. I don't think she could forgive herself if she ever hurt you." Gabrielle whispered, "Thank you. I will be working even harder on it, and I will lose sleep to devise a serum strong enough that'll help her control her hunger." Katherine whispered back, "You are welcome. I'll leave you two in privacy now." Then she left the room smiling from ear to ear.

                Once Katherine had left, Gabrielle kissed Phalen gently on the forehead so she didn't wake her. Around 9:30-10am Phalen woke up. Once fully awake, Gabrielle and Phalen made their way to the med bay. After entering the med bay, Gabrielle got right to work on altering the serum. About an hour into the altering process, Gabrielle turned to Phalen and replied, "First off Phalen, call me Gabby for short. Second of all, you asked me on one of the first days we met if I crushed on you. Do you remember that? Before you speak, please let me finish what I have to say before I lose the courage to say it. The truth is, yes, I do have a crush on you."

                  After saying this, Gabby looked down at the floor blushing. With seeing this, Phalen reached out and lifted Gabby's face so she could stare into her eyes. With a broad smile on her face, she said, "I do remember asking you if you had a crush on me. I believe it was the first or second day that we met. It was after my tribunal. You were changing my bandage. I was successfully making an ass out of myself. Plus the flirtatious banter that was occurring kinda was a give away. I know the crush you have on me is genuine. I never used my gift of persuasion on you. I want you to know I crush on you too. The only issue is that I can't control my hunger yet. I would hurt you or kill you while feeding off you. If that happened, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself or even live with myself." Gabby was shocked yet smiling. After a momentary silence, she said, "I know. We need to, and will get that hunger of yours under control. I will lose sleep to accomplish this. Here is the new and improved serum. It's 3xs stronger than the original batch. Are you ready to give it a go?"

                    Phalen smiled and shook her head yes. Gabby then administered the new and improved stronger serum. Once the injection was finished being given she called Katherine to the med bay. She was in the med bay with Kelcey within a few moments. When they came in Gabby said, "I have increased the strength of the serum. I believe it's ready to be tested. Where and when would you like to test it." Katherine smiled and replied, "How about in here and now?" Phalen and Gabby nodded in agreement.

                 Kathrine was silent temporarily then said, "We'll stay here while it's going on just as a safety precaution. That way if she needs to get sedated it'll be easier with the three of us in here. I will send a test subject in for you." After that was said they left. Phalen turned to Gabrielle and said, "Are you sure you are ok with this? Personally I'd prefer you not to be here. If I lose control again I may end up hurting you. I don't want that to happen. You did just tell me that you have feelings for me." Gabby shook her head yes.

                 Moments later a test subject came in with Katherine and Kelcey. They made their way next to Gabrielle as Phalen approached the girl. After they were next to the doctor she said, "Here's the sedative incase she loses control. Put it in her thigh. It's extremely potent. It should drop her where she is standing immediately." They nod in agreement. This girl was different from the previous one in some aspects. She was 19 y/o. Also athletically built. She had black hair with green eyes. She was slightly shorter then Phalen. Phalen kissed her and the aggression set in. The three spectators backed up quickly. The aggression was so intense Phalen ripped the girls clothes off while kissing her neck aggressively. With the aggression growing she slammed the girl onto an exam table. She became more and more rough this time.
