Chapter 26

                 The undercover work continued during Sam's transition from human to fae. On the final transfusion day Sam said, "Thank you all for staying with me. I appreciate it." When she was done speaking they all smiled at one another and her. Once Sam fell back to sleep Phalen and Gabby went to the club with Autumn. When they got to the club Autumn says, "We need to talk." Phalen responds, "Ok. Let's go to the VIP lounge." With that they entered the VIP lounge and locked the door.

               Once they were all seated Autumn began, "Reiner has been asking me a lot lately about Sam. I think he may have a crush on Sam. He admitted to me that he has been admiring her from a distance when she's here. He's to afraid to approach her because, he knows how much you guys care about Sam. I also think you intimidate him Phalen. I think he's afraid you're going to fuck him up if he shows an interest in her. I told him he needs to grow a pair and talk to you about it." Autumn paused temporarily. Then she continued, "The thing is, he's to afraid to go see Sam. Reiner is worried about what Kat will do if he does go visit her."

                Again Autumn paused. Then she continued, "I've had a few of my pack scouts follow the two of you to the gym. I worry about the two of you. It's a safety precaution." Autumn then paused once again. During the pause Phalen replied, "Thank you Autumn. We really appreciate it. Is there anything else we should know?" Autumn shook her head as she began laughing. She then continued, "One of my scouts tells me that you have one hell of an undefeated win record Artemis. He wouldn't bet against you." Phalen just sits completely quiet and bewildered.

                 That's when Gabby looks at Autumn inquisitively. Gabby then asks, "Autumn how the hell do you know about that?" Autumn replies, "I've had a scout on the inside since we began this undercover mission. He's usually on the right side of the ring at ringside. He's extremely impressed with you Phalen. He also believes that a few scouts of Kat's have also spotted the both of you going into that gym recently." Silence then fell over the room. Gabby and Phalen looked at each other. Phalen then says, "Fuck. That's not good. Kat is going to fuck my ass up for this if she finds out. Son of a bitch. I plan on taking all the heat if she finds out. I won't let either of you get blamed for this."

                Once again silence falls over the entire room. During the silence a knock came at the door. Autumn replies, "Who is it?" Just then Reiner states, "It's Reiner Autumn. May I come in?" Phalen gets up and let's him in. Phalen then returned to her seat. Reiner hangs his head in shame as he says, "I'm so sorry Alpha Autumn, Alphas Phalen and Gabby for interrupting your meeting. Can you forgive me. Will you please clue me in so I can help you in any way I can. I promise I won't say anything."

                   Phalen then clues him in and tells him not to be ashamed for interrupting. She also tells him he is forgiven. After he was clued in he sat in deep thought for a moment. Finally he spoke, "Autumn I know who you sent to observe the fights. You sent Avery didn't you?" Autumn smiled at him then said, "Yup I did. I know he enjoys watching the legal fights so, I figured he would enjoy watching the illegal underground fights as well." That's when Reiner began to laugh.

                   Once he composed himself he replied, "You're definitely right about Avery when it comes to the fights. Figuratively speaking he's my brother from another mother. We've been best friends our entire lives." When he finished speaking Autumn spoke, "Rumor has it there's another female fighter joining the fray tonight. Avery is one of the best damn bookies I know. He'd again never bet against you Phalen. According to what he's heard her and her agent are twins." Phalen looks at Autumn then asks, "Does he know anything else about her or them I should know about?" Autumn shook her head no.

                Reiner had gone over to the window and looked out while Autumn was talking. That's when Reiner exclaimed, "Fuck Phalen it's your brother and Conner. They just walked in and are headed this way." Phalen then states, "Fuck me sideways. Autumn I have to tell them." Autumn replies, "Ok. Let's tell them." Just then Orion and Conner walked in. After they were both inside Reiner closed and locked the door. As soon as the door was locked Phalen says, "Please sit you two. We've got something we need to tell you both." That's when Phalen paused.
