Hide and Seek

(U/N) POV

I laid in my bed as I relaxed...it's been a while since I've done this.

Ever since Jenn joined MindSwords it's been go-go-go.

It felt nice to relax in bed...Kids are a lot of work.

I hear a knock on my door and I jump up to get up.

"Hello! (U/N)!" Jenn happily says as I open the door.

"What's up?" I ask the little girl as I crouch to her level

"I want to play a game!" Jenn says as Liz comes into view.

"Sorry to disturb you, but Jenn is setting up for a big game of hiding and seeking," Liz says smiling.

"No need to worry, I'd love to play with you all," I say as Jenn giggles and jumps in excitement.

"She's having fun," I mutter to Liz

"Yeah, she's so cute when she smiles," Liz tells me

Jenn leads us to the main hall and everyone is waiting

"So, who's the seeker first?" Jam asks as we look at Jenn.

"Not me," she says crossing her arms as we chuckle

"I'll be it," I say as everyone nods

"Ok, count to 30," Liz says punching my arm

"And no cheating," she whispers into my ear.

"Yeah, yeah, I got it," I mutter as I close my eyes and start counting.

The rules are simple, anything goes as long as it's inside the guildhall.

"Here I come ready or not," I yell as I slowly walk around the practical section of the guild.

I look in the forge room...no one, kitchen...no one.

I slowly start to regret my decision of being the seeker 

I'll have to get clever.

I enter the training room and I spot a head of red hair behind the training dummies.

"Found you," I say as I look over the dummy and at a little girl.

"Huh man, you found me!" Jenn says pouting as I laugh at her cute face

"No hard feelings, I had to find you first so you could help me with the others," I say as she starts to look determined

"So I'm your trusty sidekick?" She asks with big eyes.

"Yep," I say as she jumps in joy

"Ok, off we go," I say as she starts marching...I guess she is just a kid...a kid stuck in this damn game.

I wonder what happened to her parents...did they die? Were they killed? Did they jump off the edge of Aincrad like so many other players did?

I didn't have the heart to ask her.

I know as much as anyone how much it hurts to reminisce

"So, where are the others?" I ask her as she stops and thinks.

"I saw Qweep go into the kitchen," she says as I raise my brow...I thought I checked the kitchen.

We wander in there and we do a double-take.
