CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

(Cameron's POV)

Her idea was a great idea. I couldn't believe that I didn't think of it. I had hope. I could stay in New York!

I grabbed her to take her to my house. She needed to be there and I finally needed to properly introduce her to my family.

Once we arrived, I shouted for my Mom and Dad. Apparently, Chad, Chase, and Hannah were all out.

Mom, Dad! Mom, Dad!

They came running, shouting,

What's wrong, Cameron?

I signaled them to sit down in the living room.

Cameron, what are you doing?

Mom, Dad, as you know, I don't want to move back to Illinois. And you told me that I could stay if I had a stable job and a stable home, right?

Yeah we did.

So, I went out and found one. A place where I could live without worrying about the rent until I find a good job.

Really?!? Where?

At her place.

(I pointed at Rachel.)

She will let me stay at her place.

Cameron, I don't think that you should be staying in a random girl's house. What will Rachel think?

Mom, Dad, meet Rachel, my girlfriend.

Mom had a surprised look on her face. I guess she did not expect the girl whom I would be living with to be my girlfriend. She approached Rachel and talked to her.

Oh my gosh, so you are Rachel. Cameron has been talking a lot of good things about you lately.

Really?

She looked kind of shy and embarrassed. That was the first time I saw her like that.

So, Cameron is going to be living with you.

Yes ma'am.

Please, call me Haily and ny husband Charles.

Yes, Haily.

Thank you. He refused to move back because of you. Now I know that refusing was the right choice, he couldn't leave a sweet girl like you alone. Thank you for putting up with my son's ways.

I got irritated and shouted,

MOM!

Alright. Such a sweet girl you've found, Cameron. Be nice.

I will Mom, I will.

I hugged Rachel and got her closer to me.

Mom, where are Chad and the others? I want to introduce them to Rachel.

Oh, your siblings went out to the mall to buy a few things. They are moving back with us and they need some things.

Oh, How long do you think they'll be gone?

They left an hour ago, so maybe in two hours or so.

Oh, then I guess I'll introduce Rachel to them tomorrow.

Oh no you don't.

(She turned to Rachel.)

Rachel, how about you stay for dinner? Cameron's siblings will be back by then.
