(Cameron's POV)
It's been 5 months since I have been living in Rachel's house. And now, we are packing for a trip. A trip to where, you ask? Well, we are going on a trip to our motherland... ILLINOIS!
Yeah, we are going back to visit our families back in Illinois for a few days. We'll first stop by my parents' place then we'll stay at Rachel's parents' place. Which means, I'll finally be meeting my girlfriend's parents.
"Cam, you ready?" Rachel asked me.
"Yeah, I guess."
"Cam, what's wrong?"
"Let's just say, I'm pretty nervous about meeting your parents."
"Oh Cam, don't be. I have told them a lot about you, they'll love you."
"Really?"
"Why would I lie?"
(Rachel's POV)
"Why would I lie?"
Seriously, why am I lying?
The night before...
"We'll be there by 5 o'clock tomorrow, Mom."
"I can't wait for Rita, Harry, and you to come."
"Mom, did you forget? Someone else is coming with us."
"Someone else? Who?"
"My... My boyfriend."
"Oh... wait what?!? BOYFRIEND?!?!?"
"Yeah, didn't Dad tell you?"
"What?!? Your father didn't tell me anything. Hold on!"
Mom just put down the phone and shouted,
"STEVEN!!! Come down here!"
I heard my dad's footsteps over the phone.
"What are you shouting about, Kirsten?"
"Steven, Rachel says that she has a boyfriend."
"Yeah."
"And you knew?"
"Yeah."
"And you didn't tell me?"
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"Because you would freak out."
"What? I don't freak out."
"You're doing it right now."
"Uh...uh..."
"Kirsten, you remember how long it took Rita to convince you to let her be with Harry? Yeah, it took half a year for you to concede."
"Well...."
"I just wanted to give Rachel a chance to have a boyfriend without you freaking out."
Mom then got the phone and started talking to me again.
"How long has this been going on?"
"My relationship with him?"
"No, your relationship with your non-existent pet, of course I'm talking about your relationship with him."
"3... 3 and a half years."
"What?!?!? You've had a boyfriend for 3 and a half years and you only tell me now?"
