(Cameron's POV)
Dinner wasn't so bad. It was actually pretty great. Rachel stayed to help clean up.
Such a great girl.
I went to my room and finished packing a few more things. I was moving in to Rachel's tomorrow, I needed to finish packing today.
After about fifteen minutes, I was done. I went down to check up on Rachel and Hannah, to find out that they were finishing up too.
On my way to the kitchen, I encountered Chad. He didn't look happy.
Hey Chad. Are you okay?
No Cameron, I am not.
What's wrong?
What's wrong? You are about to live with your girlfriend, you know that Chase and I aren't okay with that.
Look, I am different from you guys. Rachel is a good girl, she's not like the girls you dated.
Every girl is like that, she gets close to you and then just leaves you for another man.
CHAD! Rachel is different. This is my choice, not yours, mine!
I left Chad and went to the kitchen. Rachel and Hannah were just finishing up.
Thanks for helping my sis, Rachel.
No problem. This was a great bonding between us.
Well, it is getting late, I'll walk you home.
You finished packing?
Yeah, I can move in tomorrow.
Well then, let's go!
I walked her home but something looked wrong on her face.
Rachel, what's wrong?
Nothing.
Rachel, I know something's wrong, tell me.
I.... I overheard your conversation with Chad.
Oh, you did. Look.... pay no attention to that.
Is there something wrong with me? Something that bothers your brother?
No.... it isn't something that you do. It's just the fact that you are a girl.
The fact that I am a girl?
Yeah, Chad had a very bad relationship a few years back. So did Chase, but Chase has gotten over it. I don't see why Chad can't.
A bad relationship?
Yeah, she cheated on him. Left him for a different guy.
Oh, I am sorry.
No, don't be. Listen, don't pay attention to Chad. He will eventually like you, just give him time.
Okay.
We had reached her house by the time she said that word.
I'll see you tomorrow morning then, Cam.
Tomorrow it is........ Goodnight, Rachel.
Goodnight, Cam.
She kissed me softly on my lips and went inside her house.
Once she went in, I took a look at the house. This house was where I was going to live in starting tomorrow.
This house, Rachel's house. I can't wait.
