CHAPTER THIRTEEN

(Rachel's POV)

I couldn't believe him. He gave me 5 more years of physical and emotional pain just to keep his image.

He trashed me again. He fooled me again. He makes me forget why I liked him in the first place.

I stormed out of the restaurant and ran back home. Rita was home but Harry wasn't. Once she saw that I was somehow angry, she started to talk to me.

Rachel, what's wrong?

Cameron, he, he...

Rita was the only one that knew about my feelings for Cameron.

I explained to Rita about what Cameron had done to me.

Rachel, I can help you get over this, but I need you to answer three questions for me.

Okay, what are the questions?

Question 1: Do you still like Cameron?

I realized, I could forgive him. I needed to follow Mom's words. I needed to see him again!

I grabbed my phone and the paper bag that my gift was in and left the house.

I rushed to call him.

Hey, Cameron. Just come to Highland Park. We need to talk.

Okay.

I hung up and ran to Highland Park. Once I got there, Cameron was already there.

I leaned closer to him. I rested my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his hand around my back and rested it on my shoulder.

I felt so warm sitting next to him. He was so close to me.

We looked up and the moon was perfectly round. The sky was filled with stars that glimmered so brightly.

After about 10 minutes, I remebered about my gift.

Cameron, here. It's a little something from me to you.

Okay then. Thank you.

He opened the bag and took the scrapbook out. He looked through it and smiled.

This is beautiful. All the good times we had together. Thanks Rachel.

No problem.

We went back to the position and we stayed like that for about 30 minutes until I noticed that it was getting pretty late.

Cameron, it's getting pretty late. We should get home.

You're right. Let me walk you home.

Oh, there's no need.

C'mon, you're my girlfriend. I can't let you walk home alone this late at night.
