You were a hiker. Hiking was your thing. You loved the challenge the trails gave you. You loved pushing your limits. The further up Mt. Ebbot you got, the thicker the woods got. You loved the beauty of it all you hardly noticed the change in atmosphere as you crossed from the normal wood into the magic infused woods. Not until a monster greeted you when you were getting some water from the river. "Nothing more pure than the mountains river water, yes?" You jumped and screamed, obviously startled by the water elemental. "I'm sorry for startling you, human. I am Brook." He greeted. Initial shock and fear gone, you were now curious. "What are you..?" He chuckled, amused. "A water monster. You'll find that these woods are filled with monsters. They are friendly. Even the ones that don't seem so."
"I'm [Y/N].. what do you mean by that?" He hummed. "A good friend of mine is going through a rough time. Won't let anyone near him."
"Oh.." You looked to the woods. You hoped that he was alright. "Thank you for the water, Brook." He chuckled again. "I'll just put it on Nature's tab." He joked. You didn't know who Nature was. You hoped to find out.🍃🍃🍃
You'd met quite a few monsters now. Toriel, Undyne, Alphys, Papyrus, Mettaton, Flowey (who tried to kill you), Asgore, Gaster, Fire Sans, Water Sans, Earth Sans, Air Sans, Ice Sans, Plasma Sans, Electric Sans, Darkness Sans, and Light Sans. Nearly all of them spoke of Nature, yet you never met him. You wanted to meet him. From what you gathered, he was the friend that was having a rough time and pushing people away. You tried to ask about where he was, but the question was always deflected or the topic was changed. It seemed you were going to have to find him yourself. You were determined to.
🍃🍃🍃
You got the chance while wandering. You'd spotted a willow near the river and under the willow was a Sans you never met. It had to be him. You started to the willow with no intention of being quiet about it. You wanted him to know you were coming. You didn't want to startle him. Apparently he scared easy and when he was scared, he was aggressive. His head shot up upon hearing your approach. "Hi.." He immediately went up the tree. When you were three or so feet away you stopped and looked up, trying to spot him. "Is that anyway to greet a new pal? I've heard alot about you, Nature Sans. I'm [Y/N]." He growled in warning, making you frown. "I was hoping for a conversation. Heard you hadn't had one of those in quite awhile." Finally you caught slight moment in the tree. It had to be him. "Alright.. look, I know your scared of hurting others, but this isn't healthy, what your doing." There was a slight huff. You sighed. "Ok then. See you tomorrow!"
🍃🍃🍃
You set up a tent in the woods. Day by day you went to the tree. He disappeared in its branches and you had one-sided conversations with him, talking about whatever came to mind. It was getting a little exhausting though, not being able to communicate face to face. Your patience was running thin. "You know what? Make room for me, I'm coming up." You went to the tree and grabbed the lowest branch, pulling yourself up. The process was slow, but steady. That was until he panicked upon seeing you actually climbing his tree. He scrambled to get higher and you scrambled to catch up. "Sans, wait!" Then you put your weight on the wrong branch and it snapped. You tried to catch another one, but met with nothing. You were free falling. Until you weren't. You jerked to a stop as something or someone caught you in a tight grip. You looked up to the worried, startled, relieved look in his sockets as he pulled you up and close, very close. You could hear his soul pounding. "you ok..?" You nodded, blushing at the proximity. "Y-yeah."
"that was stupid."
"I know."Fin. Sorry that just seems like the perfect stopping point.
