You were in the park when the monsters came. It was three skeletons, all well dressed in suits. The tallest stood in the center, proclaiming that he was the Don of Shade City coming to gain control of our city. The second tallest looked uncomfortable, like he'd rather be anywhere but here. The smallest had his eyes closed. Was he asleep? "Everyone must pay a 200 G protection fee, Papyrus." He concluded and the uncomfortable one, Papyrus, moved to collect the money. You decided to pay, just in case. You didn't actually have much in the first place, but that tallest skeleton seemed dead serious. All who didn't pay, were brought to the front. "Now witness what happens when you cannot pay the fee." The shortest was suddenly restrained by magic hands, his eyes snapped open. Some sort of chains were taken off him and his eyelights went into golden slits. He was released and you watched in horror as all the people that were brought up were murdered. Many humans ran screaming. Many more, like yourself was frozen in place. Then he zeroed in on you. He started forward, only to be pinned down by magic hands. Papyrus came forward with the chains. You were already running though.

You were going to a singing gig at a local bar when you felt a pressure on your soul. Looking down, you saw it was dark blue. "W-what."
"sorry. i know you're probably a busy lady but... dammit, what am i doing.." The pressure left. "Wait, what were you going to say?"
"i.. wanted to apologize for earlier. that attack. that monster.. uh... stay far away from him. you'll just get hurt." You figured that much. "Uh.. thanks Mr.."
"... sans.."
"Can I see your face, Mr. Sans?" He didn't reply. He was gone.

3rd POV

"What the hell is going on?!" Gaster seethed as Sans put up more of a fight than usual. He'd been like this since they got to the city. When feral, Sans desperately wanted something. Gaster just didn't know what. Papyrus noticed too. He felt it had something to do with the girl from the first day. He didn't know. He wasn't going to give Gaster false information. In fact, he wouldn't have told Gaster even if it was true. He wasn't one to hate others, but he and Sans both HATED Gaster. "What is going on, Sans!?"
"how should i know? i'm not in control." He snapped back, before sighing. "i'm going to grillby's.."

2nd POV

He was here again. The monster that killed those people. He was barely visible in the shadowy corner, but he was there. Watching. You knew he was after you. You didn't know why. Were you next? In the past three months, he'd been at every single one of your performances. When you finished, he disappeared. It was strange and nerve wracking. When you got home, you counted your G. "I just got enough. Nice!" You'd be able to pay today. Month four. Then your smile faltered as someone knocked. You answered. "Mrs. Rachel, how can I help you?" You asked your neighbor. "My husband.. he got hurt at work, we are short 50 G. Can you spare any?" No. "Of course I can." Curse your kind soul. You handed over the money plus an extra 50 G. "For any surgery or medication.." You explained. "Your so kind, [Y/N], thank you!" You closed your door. "Thank me when I die.."

Papyrus was collecting money again. "This.. is all I have.." You told him, giving him the 100 remaining G. He glanced at the short one, who's sockets had opened. "I'M SORRY.." He apologized. You knew why. You were already walking to the front, the shortest's eyelights never leaving you. Papyrus continued on. Only two others joined you up front. They were pleading, begging for their lives. Lives everyone knew Don Gaster didn't care about. He restrained the shortest, who was still staring at you, even when his eyelights went to slits. Instead of doing his rush and ambush thing, he stalked slowly towards you. Tears left you, you were scared, but you weren't going to scream. He was in front of you now, fangs glinted in the morning sunlight. He opened his maw, and- licked away your tears? What? "Sans." Don Gaster growled. Double what? You remembered Sans as the person speaking to you in the shadows. Sans snarled in response, picking you up and bolting off as Don Gaster tried to catch him. He wasn't taking any of it though. You were scared and bewildered and decided to simply hold on tight.

He put you down outside your apartment. He knew where you lived?! He looked around tensely, searching for a threat. "Uh.. Sans.. would you like to come in?" He perked and followed you. "You're.. not all here, are you? It's something to do with those chains." You commented as Sans sniffed around the place. His lack of response was enough an answer for you. "So this ruthless killer wants to protect me. Why?" He didn't give an answer.

Sans had soon enough snuggled into you. It was.. comfortable? You'd feel more comfortable if you didn't know he'd taken lives. He started growling, his grip on you tightened ever so slightly. Your door knob jiggled. Then your door was broke down. You tried to run, but Sans wouldn't let you. "THERE YOU ARE BROTHER... MS. [L/N]. HE WON'T LET ME NEAR, UNLESS YOU HAVE HIS ATTENTION. TRY AND KEEP HIM CALM."
"How do I trust you, you just broke my door down!"
"DO YOU WANT OUT OF HIS GRIP?" You did. "Sans, Sans hey. Can you let me go?" His grip tightened again. You figured. It was worth a shot though. "Sans, I'm fine, see. I won't be harmed." Why did he want you safe? There was a click and Sans grip loosened. Another click. You were nearly free, he was staring you in the eyes again.

At the third click, Papyrus spoke. "SO, SHE'S YOUR SOUL MATE?" Sans looked tired as he completely let go and faced his brother. "yeah. i can't let him have her pap, he'll kill her now that he knows."
"I KNOW." Papyrus replied. "i think.. it's time."
"Time.. for what?" You asked uncertainly. "TO GET RID OF THE DON. SANS HAS BEEN PRACTICING THIS SPELL THAT WILL SEAL HIM AWAY."
"You.. aren't with him?"
"not of our own violation. you really think i wanna kill?"
"THE DON HAS BEEN FORCING HIM TO FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS." Forced? That certainly rubbed you the wrong way and you could see the Don doing it too. "Ok, say I believe you, what's a soul mate?"
"it's a person that i'm destined to love for the rest of me life, you couldn't tell with my overprotective cuddles?" That... made sense.
