Sabo's POV

I stood in awe, this was the real Fire fist Ace. The famous pirate who's apart of The Whitebeard pirates.

"You're the pirate, the one who ate the Flame Flame fruit..." I said in amazement.

He looked confused as he studied my face. He seemed lost in it until he smiled and looked down.

"That's right!" Ace chuckled.

I crossed my arms. "Aren't pirates evil? Why are you helping us?" I asked with an annoyed expression.

He tried keeping his composure but laughed anyway. "Not all pirates are evil? To me, being a pirate just means you're free." Ace said as he walked off.

I was stumped, what did he mean by that?

"Being a pirate means you're free?" I thought.

I followed him as he took a look around the ship.

"You guys have a place I can put my striker?" He asked calmly.

"You're what?" The captain asked.

"My boat." He replied as he looked at the sea. "It should be around here somewhere."

The captain walked towards him. "We have a compartment in the lower deck if that's okay."

"Fine with me!" He jumped of the boat and onto his.

Everyone watched in awe as he powered the boat simply from his devil fruit powers.

"Who the hell does this guy think he is? Acting so cool and amazing when he's just a measly pirate. He may be strong, but he had no status in this world."

I simply groaned and left to my room.

I took a nap so a few hours passed. When I woke up the sky was a coral color, along with a violet and orange tint. As I left my room the air felt warm with a slight breeze flowing past.

I decided not to speak to anyone and walked to the back of the ship. I stared at the endless glistening sea before me. It was like I was feeling deja vu. The ocean didn't feel unsafe at all. It was actually calming and comfortable.

"Whatcha thinking about?" I looked to my right and Ace stood there.

"AH!" I shouted and jumped.

He laughed. "I just asked you a question?" He said surprised.

I groaned and looked back to the water. "Why do people keep scaring me today..." I muttered as I placed my left hand on the railing.

I stayed quiet, I was promised a relaxing trip on the GrandLine. Instead I'm on an old rusty boat with a stupid captain and a disgusting pirate.

"You gonna tell me, or no?" The pirate questioned.

I took a long sigh and looked at him. "It's none of your business pirate."

He looked confused as he studied my face. I kept my eyes on him for a few seconds and then looked away. For some reason, seeing him made me feel happy, I tried to hide it but it was getting hard to do so.

"Where is this feeling coming from?"

"Something about you tells me you're different from the nobles I've met." Ace spoke.

"What?!" I glared.

"The captain was talking about you earlier. You whine and cry about how nothing on the ship is meeting your standards. Even so, you managed to hold up a casual conversation with him before I got here." Ace explained.

"So what?" I asked.

Ace smirked. "I've seen nobles do all sorts of things, talking casual to someone under them isn't one of them."

I looked at him with a confused expression. "A noble can do whatever they want. I have no one else civilized to talk to on this ship anyways." I spoke as I averted my gaze.

"I guess it was a little far fetched to think nobles can change..." Ace muttered.

My eyes peered back at him. "The hell did he mean by that?" I thought.

The ocean waves crashed and the birds flew over us. The sky started to become darker and darker. Both Ace and I stared at the scenery.

"Anyway, I'm gonna get some sleep. It's gonna take about five days to get to Alabasta." Ace said as he walked off.

"Hey pirate." I walked towards him.

He stopped in his tracks and turned to me. Just from his gaze at me, I felt the need to smile.

"Why does he make me so happy?!"

His expression only showed cheerful energy.

"Nevermind..." I looked away, unavailable to ask him what I was thinking.

He then walked off, and I was left alone.

"Why are you so goddamn happy?"

The next day we arrived at Drum Island. I didn't really care for anything happening with it so I stayed in the boat while waiting. Once I heard footsteps coming back in the boat, along with talking from the crew, I had to take a look.

I opened my door to see the crew members praising Ace once again.

"How did you do that?!" They hollered.

"What other amazing powers do you have?!" Someone else shouted.

I stepped forward into the conversation. "What's going on?" I asked with an annoyed expression.

"Ace just stopped Drum Island from snowing!!" One explained.

"Like hell he can, you can't stop snowfall." I stared at him.

"You sure about that, noble?" He smirked as he pointed to the climate of Drum island.

I looked over and saw barley any snow fall. I haven't known much of the GrandLine, but that didn't mean I didn't know anything. From what I remembered, Drum Island was a winter island. It was filled with snow and ice, but from what I saw now, it was nothing like what I imagined.

My body froze. "You're saying Ace did all of that?" I looked back at the crew members.

"It's no problem anyway, I'm sure by the time tomorrow comes it'll already be freezing again." Ace said without a care.

He left nonchalantly and the rest of the crew members spread out on the boat. I once again turned my head to Drum Island.

"What a weird pirate."
