Chapter 21: Reunited

Sabo's POV

The rest of Marineford was close to a blur. I remember running away and the sounds of war crashing around us. A large submarine appeared with a man I recognized. Luffy also recognized him.

Trafalgar Law is apart of the Worst Generation, hence how I knew him. Luffy told us to get on the ship and so we tried. At one point, Akainu tried attacking us once more, but Jimbei once again saved us. Although he got extreme burns due to the fighting.

When we arrived, Luffy would be taken care of by Law, who is a doctor. Both Ace and I had wounds too, but none were as severe as Luffys. So we passed out from exhaustion.

I woke up to see the ceiling of the submarine. That and Ace staring at me with intense eyes.

"AH!" I quickly got up.

He was slightly startled, but still fixated on me. I stared in fear but once I calmed down I chuckled. However, he didn't laugh. A few seconds passed without any noise. We just stared at each other awkwardly.

"Is that actually you?"

"Huh?" I focused.

"Is that actually you...?Sabo?"

My heart started beating. I forgot that he was my brother. I always saw him as the famous Fire Fist Ace, but now that I have my memories, I saw him differently.

I cleared my throat. "Yeah..." I looked away.

"Look...I'll explain-" Before I could finish, Ace punched me in my face.

"AGH! Ow! What the hell?!" I barked back.

He sighed. "You idiot...why didn't you tell us?!"

"I just said I'd explain!"

Suddenly, Ace pulled me into a warm embrace. He clutched onto my clothes and smiled.

"I-I thought you died...I thought you were dead!"

I smiled as well, returning the hug.

"I'm sorry..." I replied, tears filling my eyes.

Ace lifted himself off me but still held onto my shoulders. He had a few tears in his eyes.

"Hah! I thought Luffy was the crybaby." I teased.

"Oh shut up!" Ace quickly rubbed his face.

We both laughed, It honestly felt like how it was back then.

"So, what happened? If you don't mind me asking." Ace spoke casually with a smile.

"Well-"

"Wait...I forgot!" Ace exclaimed as he got up from his seat. "You we're that noble! The one I met at Alabasta!"

I blushed, embarrassed at the thought. "Y-Yeah...sorry I was such an idiot back then." I placed my hand behind my head.

Ace's shocked expression changed into a concern.
