Sabo's POV

I was finally able to sleep early. Instead of the terrible sleep I had last night I felt at peace. With that there was only two days left until we got to Alabasta. I woke up at ten am the next day, considering everything that happened, I wasn't surprised.

As I walked around the ship, I found the captain near the fishing supplies. I was nervous, especially after what happened last time we were here. Nervously, I approached the man.

"Hey, Captain." I said.

He turned around. "Hey, kid!" He spoke with a smile.

I looked at him confused as hell. "What?" I thought as I forced a grin.

"Sit down, I was just about to get things ready!" He said happily.

"Why was he acting like this? I almost fought him two days ago and he's acting so buddy buddy?!" I thought as I slowly walked towards them.

Like last time, he grabbed a small piece of fish and placed it inside the hook in his fingers. I sat down focusing on his hand motions. The crew members blabber filled the air as the captain and I focused on this small piece of fish on the hook. Once he was done he stood up to check the rod itself.

"Hey...captain?" I sheepishly let out.

He turned to me and stopped what he was doing. "Yeah, kid?" He asked with a smile.

I gulped and stood up. I turned my body to face him and went on my knees. His face was shocked, all he could do was stare down at my bowing body.

"I apologize once more captain!" I shouted loudly.

The ship went quiet, the crew members caught notice of the conversation we were having.

"No turning back from this..." I reminded myself "My apology yesterday felt incomplete. It didn't feel genuine, almost like I got off too easily." I expressed.

Everyone was stunned, it was a chance in a life time. A noble bowing down to the captain of a measly ship.

My eyes were closed shut. "I complained to you and almost hit you back then! I don't care if you forgive me or not, I just need you to know that I regret it. I regret everything!"

The captain kept his gaze one me. My voiced echoed through the ship. With my apology finished, I remained on the floor waiting for a response.

"You stupid kid..." The captain knelt down to me.

He placed his right arm on my shoulder. "You bow your head to me despite being a noble. Why is that?" He asked.

I lifted my head to be greeted with his welcoming face. His body cast a shadow on me, it was like I was looking up to him despite being a noble. He could only smirk as we locked eyes. Even though I already had a caring father of my own, It almost left like the captain was a guardian. As if he was my very own father.

"I...I don't know? I couldn't bear what happened and my apology yesterday felt half ass. The only thing left to do was apologize once again." I explained.

"When I first met you, I told you that you act so casual around us. Regardless of being a noble, you were actually nice." The captain expressed.
