Sabo's POV
"Hey, kid." Someone whispered.
I opened my eyes and looked up. The captain was there giving me a wide grin.
"You okay?" He asked.
I rubbed my eyes and lifted myself off his chest. "Yeah, how long was I asleep for?" I asked him.
"Not for long, it's only been a few minutes. After you got the tissues you kinda just dozed off." The captain spoke.
"I see... so everything that happened was true?" I asked him looking to the floor.
His smiled shifted into a frown. "I'm afraid so."
I looked around and saw the crumbled up letter on the floor. I kept thinking of it was best to even open it again.
"So what now?" I said, confused.
He stood up from the floor and looked towards Alabasta.
"Wait, you still have to say goodbye to Ace." The captain remembered.
"Is he even here still?!" I quickly got up, eager to see him again.
"I hope so! I don't think he even knows that you're his brother!" The captain shouted.
I quickly ran off the boat and into the town in front of us.
The captain rushed to the edge of the boat. "Hey, Sabo! What're you doing?!"
"Finding Ace! I'll be back in a second!" I shouted as I kept running.
Just like that I was off to find Ace. It was hard to believe I was Ace's brother. Even if I wasn't sure, I couldn't deny the facts given to me. What would the odds be that there's two nobles named Sabo that have blonde hair and wear a top hat. We were both ten, ten years ago and lived in Goa Kingdom. The coincidence was too accurate.
As I looked around town, I asked for traces of Ace. Ace loved to eat, so maybe he was at a restaurant somewhere. Eventually I came across a place called Spice Bean. As soon as I walked in, I saw a giant hole in the wall. It smashed through a bunch of building behind it.
"Excuse me?" I went to a man who looks to be the owner. "What's you're name?"
He spoke, seemingly at a loss for words. "Uh...Yoshimoto." He continued to stare at the hole in the wall.
"Have you seen a guy named Ace around here? He's a famous pirate, goes by Fire Fist Ace." I asked.
"You're looking for that dude?!" Yoshimoto jumped back out of fear.
I stared at him confused. "Uh, yeah? Have you seen him?"
"I-I..he was just here! Some guy flew at him and marine captain Smoke!" Yoshimoto panicked.
"Where did they go?!" I urged.
"They ran! I don't know where, but they left out the front door!"
I quickly ran through the door and straight forward.
"BANG!"
A sudden blare exploded in the sky, there was no doubt.
"Ace!" I shouted, running towards the smoke.
After a few minutes I found myself with a crowd of people.
I swiftly made my way through the crowd. "ACE!" I yelled.
When I got through, I saw a tall man before me. As I looked up at him, he gave a creepy glare at me.
"The hell are you?" He said menacingly.
For a few seconds, I completely froze.
"UH- have you seen Ace?! Fire Fist Ace, the pirate?!" I questioned.
He turned his full body to me. "And why should I even tell you?"
Those words put a pit in my stomach. "How dare this man talk down to me?! I'm a noble, he should respe-"
I glared into his cold eyes. "Not anymore, I can't act like I'm one of them anymore."
"I don't care what affiliation you have with Ace. I just need to know where he went." I said bravely.
The man gave me that same glare once more. "Sorry, I can't help you kid." He spoke in an angry tone, walking away.
I looked back at him. "Who was that guy?"
I kept going forward, maybe he went down an alley. A few minutes passed and I came across some random thugs on the path.
"Hey! You know where Fire Fist Ace is?!" I shouted grabbing one by their shirt.
"Oh no! Not another one of them!" A thug yelled.
"He and some other dude went down this path! We swear! They're other there!" Another thug explained.
I let go of the guy and kept going. "ACE!" I called out.
He had to be here somewhere.
As I made my way through the alley, I saw a bright blue appear from the horizon.
"Ocean?!" I thought.
Right then and there, I saw two silhouettes. There was a small silhouette of a boy and then a much taller silhouette with an iconic hat.
"ACE-"
Suddenly, a bunch of people crowded around the short one and Ace. Their shouts drowned out my voice. Out of nowhere, the shirt one flew off straight towards the sea.
"The hell?!" I said, surprised.
Right then and there, Fire beamed out of nowhere and the crowd around Ace flew straight towards me.
"AH!" I quickly bent down and covered my head.
Crashes rang out behind me, Ace took them all out with that single blow.
I looked up and saw Ace jump on top of the railing. I then got up and ran straight forward.
"ACE-" I called out, reaching for him with my hand.
As I shouted he jumped off and landed on his Striker on the ocean.
"NO!" I yelled, because of the weight and grabbed onto the railing to hold my balance.
Just like that, he drove off to a pirate ship in the distance. I stood meekly as I saw my friend leave. No, he was more than a friend to me. Not only because of my past, but who he was to me during the trip.
He is my brother, even if he doesn't know it yet.
Defeated, I decided to make my way back to the ship. Thinking about it, why should I care if he's my brother?
In fact, as far as I knew, there was only one thing left to do.
