Chapter 20: Remember

Sabo's POV

"As soon as they rescued Fire Fist Ace, they fled. What a cowardly crew, just like their washed up captain!"

Everyone turned to a calm and collected Akainu.

He was just trying to get us mad. There's no point in fighting. We have Ace now.

"He's trying to get you riled up, don't listen! Keep it moving! Don't fall into his trap, you hear me?!" Someone shouted.

"Yeah...that old man huh? Some captain he is." Sakazuki lifted his cap and slicked his hair back. "It's not your fault, that's just Whitebeard."

He gave a smug smile.

"A washed up failure."

Ace stopped in his tracks.

"Ace!" Luffy stopped and looked at him.

Once I heard Luffy, I immediately turned to them from a far.

"A failure?" Ace asked as his hands lit up in flames.

He stared down at Akainu with an irritated look. "Take it back, or else."

Everyone was shocked, he actually considered fighting. My eyes widened with fear.

"Ace! No! Don't! Just keep moving!" Someone shouted.

"No one gets away with mocking pops." Ace raised his voice.

Luffy stepped closer. "STOP!"

I had to get close to them, if Ace got into a fight with an admiral, he would definitely die. I started to run, I had to be there even if I couldn't do anything. I knew I was weak, I don't even have a devil fruit. However, I had to save Ace, no matter what happens.

"That's ENOUGH! You're wrong! There's nothing fake about the family he gave us! But I wouldn't expect a heartless bastard like you to appreciate that!" Ace spoke confidently.

"Like I said, he convinced you punks you meant something to the world. But your kind doesn't deserve a home-!"

Ace screamed. "CAN IT!"

"YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE! YOU'LL ALL DIE AS FAILURES! WHITEBEARD'S NOTHING BUT A LOWLEY OLD FOOL!" Akainu barked.

"WHITEBEARD IS THE GREATEST PIRATE WHO EVER LIVE, YOU HEAR ME?! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MAN WHO SAVE MY LIFE!"

Ace enveloped with flames, Going in for an attack. The crowd screamed, calling for Ace to come back.

"THIS IS HIS ERA! AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT!"

A blast of fire and magma clashed. Rocks flew everywhere and the ground shook. I almost fell to my knees.

Suddenly Ace flew back onto his stomach.

"ACE!" I shouted.

Somehow Ace got hurt, trembling on the floor. I turned to Luffy, he was reaching for a piece of paper.
