I rode until I saw a group of survivors walking through the woods. I saw a walker fall on top of a blonde woman and repeatedly try to attack her.
I nudged Annie forward and swung my bat against the biter's head. It was thrown off of the blonde woman, and a man with a crossbow stabbed it in the head with a knife.
I looked around at the group as Annie pranced her feet, probably scared of the biter.
"I'm lookin' for Lori Grimes." I announced. "Your son has been shot."
A skinny woman with long brown hair gasped, "Carl's been shot?" She asked in disbelief.
"Yes, there's no time to explain. Come with me." I said. She rushed over and got on the back of Annie.
The man with the crossbow scoffed, "So your just gonna go with this random stranger? She could be lying."
"I'm not lying," I assured, "Rick is at our house now. Follow this trail. The mailbox says "Green"!" I said as I nudged Annie to run back to the farm.
When we returned to the farm, I guided Annie up to the house. Lori jumped off as I pulled Annie to a stop. I gracefully swung my leg off Annie, and follow Lori into the house.
"Where is he?" Lori asked quickly.
"First room to the left." I answered her. Daddy came out of the room as Lori went in. When his eyes find mine and my stomach dropped.
"Where did you go?" He asked impatiently.
My eyes jump nervously around the room. Maggie, Beth, Jimmy, and Patricia where standing around in the living room with us. Odis and the other man were no where to be seen. And Rick and Lori must be with their boy.
Maggie mouthed a "sorry" to me.
"I went to get the boy's mother. She didn't know..." I answered carefully.
"You know I don't like you girls leaving alone." He warned.
"I wasn't hurt. I can take care of myself out there." I said, somewhat defiantly.
He sighed in defeat, "I don't have time for this." He went back into my/the boy's room.
I sighed and went out onto the porch. I sat in one of the wooden rockers. The screen door squeaked open and Maggie emerged and sat beside me.
"Hey," she said gently, "You did good."
"Is the boy gonna be okay?" I asked, changing the subject.
Maggie sighed, "Daddy doesn't have the right tools. Odis took Shane to get more from the school."
"I'm sure everything will be okay. It always is." I mumbled.
"You can stay in my room until the boy's better." She offered.
"Thanks." I said with a small smile. Even though I was a few months older than Maggie, she still acted more protectively over Beth and I. Technically I wasn't even her sister. I was adopted. My parents thought they couldn't have kids so they adopted me. A few months later they realized my mother was pregnant with Maggie.
Maggie turned towards me to say something but Charlie, who was laying on the porch, stood up and gave a low growl towards the front yard. Maggie and I both stood and grabbed our weapons. I held Charlie by his collar so he wouldn't run or make noise.
Two men walked up to our door without realizing Maggie and I were standing there. There was a man with colored skin and a Korean kid.
"Should we knock?" The Korean kid asked.
"Who are ya lookin' for?" Maggie asked.
They jumped and looked at us.
"Oh, hi," the Korean kid said with a slight wave towards me, "We've met before. Well, sorta'. I saw you on the horse."
I nod at him, "I'm Lucy and this is my sister Maggie." I motioned towards her. When the Korean kid saw Mags, he stopped and stared at her as if she was the most interesting thing in the world.
"I'm Glenn and that's T-Dog." He mumbled.
I gasped when I saw crimson blood dripping down T-Dog's arm. He backed away slightly.
"It's not a bite. I scratched it on a car door." He explained.
I nod and lead them inside. "I'll sew that up and get you guys something to eat."
