Lucy's POV.

I had been sitting here for what felt like a very long time, but was probably only about 10 minutes. I had gotten the chair leg very sharp. It was sharp enough to kill someone, but I still kept sharpening it. I guess it kept me preoccupied until someone would walk into this room.

I was sitting behind the door waiting for something to happen.

I squeezed my eyes shut and blew out a shaky breath. The door swung up and I jumped up from sitting and stood ready.

The Governor walked into the room and cussed when he didn't see me tied to the chair.

I ran out from where I was hiding behind the door, and kicked him in the back of the knee, causing him to fall to his knees.

I raised my make-shift knife and brought it back down on him, aiming for neck. But he brought his hand up and blocked me. I forced it down harder, but his arm prevented it to move any closer.

The Governor elbowed me in my ribs and I doubled over. My hand shot out and stabbed him in his thigh. He yelled out in pain and tackled me. I dropped my make-shift spear as I tried to fight him off.

His large hands rapped around my neck and squeezed hard. I choked and tried to pry his hands off, but it was no use. He was ten times stronger than me.

Instead, I reached out for my spear. It was a half of an inch away from my fingertips. I stretched my hand out as far as I could. I could feel it in my fingers as the world started getting black.

Hope filled me when I gripped the wooden surface. I yanked it towards the Governor's face. I embedded it in his eye.

He screamed and released my neck. I choked, air filled my lungs as the Governor fell back off of me.

I crawled towards the door. I stood and jumped out the door, locking it behind me. Locking the screaming Governor inside.

I ran down the hall. I had no idea where I was going, only that I was getting out of there.

I heard gunshots and I stopped. I hid behind the corner and tried to figure out where the gunshots came from. I heard more pops and cracks of the gunfire. I decided that it was somewhere to my left, so I took off running down there.

I rounded a corner and ran straight into someone. I bounced off them and stumbled back. I gasped when I saw who it was.

"Merle?" I asked in disbelief.

"Zip it and follow me." He grabbed my arm and yanked me back the way he came from.

"No, please. Let me go." I fought against him.

He stopped and threw me up against the wall.

"You wanna get to your group? There right outside. Follow me." He growled and stepped back.

I looked at him in shock. But I decide to trust him. I nodded and told him to lead me the right way.

He turned and ran down the hall. I followed right on his heels as he lead me to a door.

He stopped right before it. He turned to me and said, "They're  right out this door. Over near the west side I think. I can't go with you." He gripped my arm, "Tell my brother where I am."

I nodded at him and he gripped the door handle.

I looked into his eyes and said, "Thank you."

He stayed quiet but nodded. He opened the door to the outside of Woodbury.
