I was walking by the camp sight when someone called my name. I stopped and saw Carl sitting there doing his math. What? Why would he still do math in the apocalypse?"Lucy, I'm bored." He stated as he closed the math book.
"Well, that's no good." I said with a friendly smile. "Here, follow me." I showed him around the farm. We went up on the barn loft and through the forrest. I hung out with Carl most of the day.
I was walking him around on Annie. We were talking about parents and school.
"My parents constantly fought." He blurted.
I felt a twinge of sympathy for him. "Why?" I asked after a few seconds of silence.
He shrugged, "They fought everyday. I think it was because of me." He mumbled and looked away.
I stopped Annie from walking anymore so that I could look him in the eye. "No, Carl. I'm sure it wasn't because of you. Couples fight for no reason." I assured.
He shrugged again, "I don't think they love each other anymore."
I didn't know what to say. I could ruin his little life because of what I say next.
"Carl...I'm sure your parents love each other. Their just going through rough patches in their marriage. All couples do it." I said carefully.
I helped him off of Annie and squatted before him. "No matter what happens with your parents, they'll always love you, Carl." I said.
He nodded at me and opened his mouth to say something, but he was cut off by a yell.
"Carl!" Lori called from across the yard. She began to make her way over to us.
"Carl, what did I tell you about not leaving my sight." She nagged when she got to us.
I rolled my eyes as I stood up to my full height of 5"3.
"But mom," Carl began, "I was with Lucy-"
"I don't care. Stay with me." She grabbed him by his shoulders, "Head back to camp, I'll be right behind you."
He sighed, "Bye, Lucy." He mumbled.
"See ya later, Carl." I said with a small wave.
After Carl left Lori spun around to me, "Stay away from Carl. He's my son."
I raised my eyebrows in shock, "Sorry, I was just watching him. Mabey you should try it sometime." I snapped as I brushed pass her. I don't take anyone's crap. What was her deal anyway? This would be so much easier if they had never come. But then again, I wouldn't know Rick Grimes.
Wait, what? Stop thinking weird things like that, Lucy! He's married! But Carl had said that he didn't think his parents loved each other.
As I mentally fought with myself, I wondered over towards Dale's RV.
"Hey, Dale was it?" I asked the older man who was trying to fix a part on the front of his RV.
He looked over at me and smiled, "Yeah, that's me. What can I do for you?"
I shrugged, "I just wanted to see if you and your group has everything they need."
"Well, unless you know how to fix a whacky radiator hose?" He rubbed his hands with a dirty rag.
"Oh no, I don't know anything about that stuff." I laughed, "But you might be able to get Jimmy to help you."
"Eh, I'm gonna take a break anyways. Care to join me?" He asked as he sat on a lawn hair beside his RV.
"Sure," I replied and sat in a chair next to his.
We talked about his RV and the places he visited. We were interrupted by Andrea yelling from atop of the RV.
"Walker!" She yelled, drawing the attention of almost everyone in the camp. I looked around the RV towards the far field. Sure enough there was a walker, slowly limping towards us.
Charlie appeared out of nowhere and gave a deep growl. I held him back by his dirty, red collar.
"Just one?" Rick asked as he walked over.
I nodded at him.
"Alright, let's go." Shane said as he, Glenn, and T-Dog ran off towards the field.
"I can get it." Andrea informed.
Rick shook his head, "No, that'll draw every walker from miles. Let us take care of it." He ran off towards it.
Andrea was laying on her stomach on top of the RV, looking down the scope of her rifle.
"I got it." She muttered.
"Andrea, don't." I warned.
"Shut up, Lucy." She hissed.
A gunshot echoed throughout the valley as the walker fell to the ground, dead. Andrea smirked as she reloaded. I rolled my eyes and let go of Charlie's collar. He bolted towards the field.
"No!!" Rick yelled as he ran towards the walker.
The men began yelling as Andrea's smile fell. I grabbed the rifle out of her hands and looked down the scope. The men began dragging the walker back to camp in a fast pace. I looked at the walker more closely.
"Daryl?"
