I nursed my father and he woke up for a few minutes, before he lost consciousness again. He seemed like he would survive this. I had to have faith, not just for him, but for Maggie and Beth too. After a very long exhausting day, I slowly trudged to my cell. My feet dragged up the stairs. Everyone else had already gone to sleep for the night. Even my dog was already in his bed.
I stopped at the top of the stairs and checked my watch. The hands read 2:41 am.
I sighed. This had been a long stressful day. Not to mention the fact that when I entered our cell block, Lori had slapped me. Yeah, that's right. Slapped me. She hit me because I took Carl in the tunnels.
I really didn't even have time to be mad at her. I was too busy nursing Herschel. But now that I think of it, it was wrong of me to bring Carl into danger for my own sake. I apologized to Lori but she only just glared daggers at me.
On the brighter side of the apocalypse, Rick, Daryl, and Glenn had come back safe. I had tried to talk to Rick about what happened, but he wouldn't answer me. I resulted in talking to Glenn about what went on in the tunnels.
I shuffled into my cell. Charlie's head rose to see who entered, but he went back to sleeping after he saw it was only me.
I kissed Beth on her forehead before I laid down on my bed. It creaked under my weight, leaving the last noise in the cell block.
I laid in the dark for what seemed like a long time, but in reality was only a few minutes.
I sighed again. There's no way I could sleep tonight. I quietly got up and crept back out into the cell block. Charlie got up and followed me outside. I walked over to the catwalk.
A figure stood there already taking in the scene of the dark prison field.
I smiled when I saw who it was. I walked over to Rick and said, "Hey, stranger,"
Rick glanced over to see me and gave a small smile.
"Hey,"
I sat down and leaned against the fence as I looked out over the dark scene.
Charlie sat down and laid his head in my lap. I gently stoked his furry head. Rick slowly sat next to me with one leg pulled up next to him and his other stretch out.
"Can't sleep either?" He asked quietly.
I shook my head. "No, to much stress I think. "
He was quiet for a moment. The three of us sat listening to the owls and crickets singing in the night.
I felt Rick's hand fall on my knee.
"Don't worry, I think your father is gonna be just fine. He's got you as a nurse." Came his deep voice.
I sighed. "Well, I'm just so scared, Rick. I'm not just scared for me, but for Beth, and Maggie. I don't know what to do-"
I was cut off by a forceful, yet gentle kiss from Rick. I was shocked at first, but slowly, I kissed him back. I rapped my arms around his neck as he gently kissed me.
He pushed a piece of my unruly hair behind my ear, and a smiled into the kiss.

.
.I startled awake. I pushed my hair back from my face as I looked around the cell.
"Oh, good your finally awake." Beth commented as she brushed her light blonde hair in front of me.
"Wha- what time is it, Bethy?" I asked her as I sat up in bed, careful not to hit my head on Beth's bunk.
"How should I know? Your the one with the watch. Lucy, could you braid my hair? I can't reach it in the back." She asked me as she bent down in front of me.
"Yeah, sure." I replied and began braiding her hair.
That was all just a dream? It felt so real....and the kiss? Stop it Lucy! He's married, and now your dreaming about him.
"-right, Lucy?" Beth ended her sentence.
"Hmm? Sorry, I was thinking of something." I asked her as I finished her braid.
"Oh, I said that we need to get the cell block cleaned and then it will almost be like a real house. Will you help me clean it out?" She explained again.
"Yeah, sure, if the others don't need my help with anything else." I agreed as I stood up and pulled up my boots on.
"Cool, I'll meet you outside." She said and walked out of the cell.
I sat there for a minute trying to understand my jumbled feelings. A soft whine erupted from Charlie's throat. I peeked over at him laying in his bed.
"What are you lookin' at, punk?" I asked him with a glare.
He growled and laid his head in between his paws.
A/N;
Hello! So, how did you like it? Lucy is having dreams of a certain sheriff. Ooo could there be a budding romance going on? Only time will tell.
Okay, so I know that I would reveal my age, but I'm changing it. There has to be 10 comments to guess my age before I publish the next chapter and my age.
So guess if you want more chapters!
Ps. You like the new book cover? I made it!
-Paige.
