"Grannie, please just sit down and let me take care of that." I plead with the stubborn old lady.

"Ah, alright alright." she fusses but gladly makes her way to the couch.

I take the abandoned knife and begin to peel the apple from where she had left off. I finish peeling the apple and cut it into small slices and place them on a small plate. I wipe my hands on my skirt.

"Grannie, I'm going to school now. I already got grandpa's newspaper. I put it on the table. Mom already left for work. Okay, I love you. Bye!"

I give her a quick kiss on the cheek and walk to the door where my shoes are. I change from my slippers to my shoes, grab my school bag and wave goodbye.

I reach for the down button for the elevator but someone else beats me to it. I bow to my familiar neighbor. He smiles.

"Hello, Eun Kyung-ssi."

"Hello, sir. Where are you going so early this morning?"

"Sir? First time I hear that. I'm only twenty five, you know."

I giggle. "Sorry. Should I just a dress you as Min Ho-ssi?"

He shrugs. "That's a lot better than sir. It's only seven thirty in the morning but you've already managed to make me feel like an old man. And to answer your question from before, I'm going to work."

"You work?" As soon as the words come out I cover my mouth. "I'm so sorry. That came out a lot ruder than I meant it to. It's just, I've never really seen you leave the complex."

Min Ho laughs. "I'm trying not to be offended by that. But yes, I do leave my apartment and yes, I do have a job."

The elevator door opens to the lobby, signalling the end to or conversation. I bow in goodbye to my handsome neighbor.

"Goodbye, sir- I mean Min Ho-ssi." I correct myself.

He smiles. "See you around, Eun Kyung."

My walk to school is peaceful. The sun already shines on my face and warms my skin, the signs to a good day. The breeze gently carresses my hair as I make it into the school grounds. The day was off to a good start. Running into Min Ho was a total plus to my morning. Hwa Young and I had been fawning over his goodlooks ever since he moved in next door.

"Eonnie!" I faintly hear someone yell in the distance.

I stop and turn around. I see my one and only friend, HwaYoung, running towards me. She reaches me and rests her hands on my shoulders, panting. Hwa Young entered school early, making her a year younger than everyone else in our grade. Hence, her calling me eonnie.

"Wow! You're so skinny but you really can't run." I tease, laughing.

She playfully slaps my arm. "Yah! Just because someone is skinny doesn't make them athletic. You're such a bully."

"Whatever, we'rere going to be late." I say tugging on her arm.

I take back what I said about this being a great day. Those were definitely not auspicious signs.

"Ugh! I can't believe she threw that ball at your head. And then she tried to feign innocence. Hmph!" HwaYoung complains and continues to mutter "When I get my hands on her..."

I rub the small bump on my head and shrug. "It's okay, Hwa Young. Just a tiny bump. Nothing to get worked up about."

We sit our trays down on the table and sit down and Hwa Young huffs.

"It is not okay. You can't let people walk over you like that."

Her anger immediately vanishes as she looks at her phone and squeals with excitement.

What is it now?" I ask, already knowing what she was going to talk about.

"My oppas! They're back from their tour. Finally. They've been gone forever. If only I could have been at the airport to see them. But no, I just had to be in school."

I laugh at her melodrama. "You're so passionate. Too bad you're not like that with school."

Hwa Young scoffs. "School and Bangtan are completely different."

I have to admit. These Bangtan Boys were totally cute and I could always jam out to their music. But I was nowhere near as passionate as Hwa Young. I guess they're more of a hobby. For Hwa Young, however, they're essentially her life.

I shake my head and laugh. "True."

We can here Chung Hee talking to her friends from the other table. "Like, you know, my dad is the CEO of a really big company so he bought me tickets to BTS's concert."

I catch Hwa Young rolling her eyes. "That evil wench. Of course she'd brag, that's all she knows to do. She must've done something really great in her previous life to be so filthy rich."

"Wow, we're so jealous!" one of her friends coos.

"Yeah, but daddy bought more than one ticket so who knows..." She draws, letting her last words linger.

Fear crawls up my stomach as she gets up and approaches our table. I look down and begin to furiously eat my food.

"Oh, don't you two like BTS?"she cocks her head to the left with fake interest. "I have extra tickets if you want to come with me."

Hwa Young's face brights up with hope and excitement despite the obvious trap. "Are you serious?"

"No! But that was really funny. You really believed I would take you. That's too bad." Chung Hee flips her hair back and walks back to her friends who laugh along with her.

"Come on, I'm not hungry anymore."

HwaYoung gets up from her seat sulkingly and I follow behind. The rest of the school day goes by fairly quickly and before I know it Hwa Young and I are parting ways.

"Bye, I'll see you tomorrow!" I yell at Hwa Young as she crazily waves at me.

I start my walk back home. Most of the students go to their private tutors but we can't afford that.

I turn the key in the lock and open the door. I take off my shoes and place them on the shoe rack by the door and put on my slippers.

"Gramps, Grannie, mom, I'm home!"

Mom comes to greet me and wipes her hands on her apron and hugs me."Did you have a good day?"

"Yes, mom." I reply.

"Your grandfather went out fishing with some friends and mom is watching a drama. We should get rid of that tv, she's an addict."

We laugh at my grandmother's  addiction to dramas. It was no secret she had a soft spot for handsome young men. Especially when they went by the name Song Joong Ki.

At the dinner table, as always, it is loud. But I find comfort in our happy loudness. When it is time to sleep, I close my eyes yet I find it hard to sleep. For some reason, today's interaction with Chung Hee replays in my mind. How can someone be so mean?

I set my mind on making sure the same thing doesn't happen again. Hwa Young was right, I do let people walk over me. I turn and lay on my side.

If we save enough money together, maybe Hwa Young and I can go to a BTS concert. That would be fun.

I wonder what it would be like to be so close to them. I shake my head. Better stop now before I get over my head like Hwa Young. Yet I go to sleep with the thought of someday meeting them.
