Chapter Thirteen

I stare off into the distance. This seemed impossible. How are we supposed to catch fish? We've been sitting here for over thirty minutes and no one has catched anything. Is there even fish in this lake? They won't actually leave us without breakfast, right?

"I feel something tugging at the line!"

We all turn our heads at the sudden exclamation. Rap Monster is reeling in the line. At the end of it is a huge fish. I frown, getting frustrated as my stomach growled. My thoughts are filled with the delicious stew we could make out of that fish.

I sit back down. I'll be fine without one meal. No big deal. Lunch will be here before we know it. Jin places his hand on my shoulder reassuringly.

"Don't worry. There are plenty of fish out there. We just have to wait a bit more."

I nod. All of a sudden I feel a tug on the fishing line. I try to reel it in but I lose my footing. Before I know it I'm falling into the lake. I scream as I plummet into the freezing cold water.

Panic immediately sets in. I can't swim. I begin to thrash and flail. Something brushes by my foot and I scream once again, water pouring into my mouth. It feels as if something is pulling me down. How deep is this? Am I going to die like this? It's so dark. I close my eyes, afraid.

Eomma, harabuji, halmoni. I'm sorry. I love you.

Am arm suddenly wraps around my waist. I open my eyes. Despite the stinging and murky water I can tell exactly who it is. My eyes suddenly feel heavy. I fight to keep them open. The last thing I see is his worried face as he swims up to the surface.

I wake up in a coughing fit. I try to sit up only to slump back down. I look around, I'm in a private hospital suite. It's then that I finally notice the body draped across my lap and the hand tightly grasping mine.

With my free hand I brush away his bangs. I stare at his face. He looked rather peaceful, yet there was a crease in his eyebrows. My heart begins to beat faster, the heart monitor going crazy.

I always said that I loved you. But it's now that I realize, I really mean it. Deep down, I know that I'm falling in love with you. And it's dangerous and I'm scared. You're like a beautiful star in the sky shining brightly. And I'm me.

Jung Kook begins to stir. I smile softly as his nose twitches. His eyes slowly open.

"You're finally awake." He says, relief evident in his tone.

"What happened?" I ask.

"You somehow fell into the lake. We didn't expect it to be so deep. You were drowning but I saved you. You've been asleep for a couple of hours. The doctor said you swallowed a lot of water."

"You saved me." I whisper.

I look down at our clasped hands. For some reason tears begin to prick at my eyes. He wipes away my tears with his thumb.

"Everything is okay, don't cry." He whispers.

I look away embarrassed. "I don't know why I'm crying."

He hugs me. Which only wants to make me cry even more.

"T-The others, where are they?"

"They went out to get dinner. I didn't want to leave you alone." He says and red begins to taint his ears.

I try to suppress the blush on my face.

"Eun Kyung-ah!"

Eomma is suddenly running into the room. She crashes into me with a huge hug. She holds onto me tightly.
