I woke up early even though we had this Saturday off. There was something about the sun that made me feel happy.

I brushed my teeth before going to the living room.

"Grandpa, did you sleep well?" I ask.

"Yes. And it's good that you're awake. I need you to take me to the supermarket."

"Okay. Would you like for me to make you something to eat first?"

"No, I already had some coffee. And I don't want to make noise and wake the ladies up. It's Eun Ha's day off today."

I grabbed grandpa's jacket and we put on our shoes. He walked rather quickly for his age. I interlocked our arms together.

"Gramps, what do you need to buy?" I ask him as we sit down on a bench to wait for the bus.

"It'll be Eun Ha's birthday soon. I want to get her something."

"You're right! I almost forgot." I gasped.

How could I forget my own mom's birthday? Grandpa chuckled and mumbled about young people being too busy. The bus finally pulled up and a nice lady gave up her seat for grandpa. I thanked her and she smiled. I stood the entire ride.

We got off at the stop nearest to the supermarket and walked the rest of the way.

Grandpa bought the ingredients needed for seafood stir fry, mom's favorite food, and seaweed soup. We were at the cash register when I noticed a sign hanging up on the wall.

Are you a fan of BTS?
IF SO, SIGN UP TO BE THE LUCKY FAN ON THEIR NEW SHOW; 3 DAYS AND 2 NIGHTS!

I snort as the silly thought of me winning crosses my mind.

Underneath was the sign up information. Even if I did sign up, so would another million girls. What are the odds of me winning? Probably a million to zero. If anything, fate would pull a cruel joke and I'd have to see Chung Hee throw herself all over them. I shake my head at the vision.

"Eun Kyung-ah,  isn't that the boyband  you like? Did I ever tell you the story of how I met your grandmother?"

"Yes, grandpa. You dug a hole, covered it up and placed your mother's precious diamond necklace on top of it. Grannie fell into it and you only agreed to let her out if she went on a date with you. Later you two fell in love and the rest is history."

"Exactly! But I never told you the full story. Actually, your grandmother was seeing someone else at the time. We were love rivals, obviously. Clearly we know who one." He chuckled. "Anyways, that rival was Park Ki Hong."

"Gramps, what's the point of this story?" I ask, having no idea where he was going with this.

"My point is, Ki Hong is now one of my best and oldest friends. We fish together on the weekends. And he's that Ji Min fella's grandfather. Isn't it funny how life works out? I still think I won. Eternal love can't lose to your grandson rolling in cash."

My jaw dropped. "You know his grandfather? Why are you only telling me now? I only knew their names. How was I supposed to know this Park Ji Min and that Park Ji Min were the same? But now that I saw his picture on the poster I know. Ki Hong always goes on about how his grandson is a singer and shows me pictures. Aren't you happy I know someone famous?"

I scratched my head. "This is crazy, gramps."

"When have I lied to you?"

I began to list off. "Santa Clause, the tooth fairy, the goblin, should I go on?"

"That's a little harsh don't you think?"

"And your story is too good to be true." I countered.

"Now you're going to say Ahn Sung Ki and I didn't grow up together."

"Gramps, I don't want to hurt you, but I never believed that either."

"Wow...I don't know what to say right now."

"Don't say anything."

"You just ask your grandmother. Then you'll see I'm not lying."

"Okay, gramps. Let's just put this aside for now, okay?"

We got home and luckily, I had distracted grandpa from our earlier conversation. Hopefully he'd forget, though I doubt he will for long. I put the groceries away and headed into my room to do homework.

I was staring at my computer screen when out of my better judgement, I typed in the address that had been on the poster. It lead me to the KBS website, at least I knew it was legit. All I had to do was put in my name, age, email and number. But why was I so nervous?

I shook my head. Whatever. I won't let the odds get to me. Sure, I never win in these types of things but maybe this time would be different.

I fill in all the information and hovered over the enter button. For good measure I touched the necklace I always wore around my neck and said a quick prayer. Hopefully God would hear my prayer and grant my wish.

I shut my eyes closed before sending my application.
