It's been two weeks since I sent an application to be on the show with BTS. Today is the day they announce the lucky fan. My heart tightens. Why do I feel so anxious? It's not as if I even stand a chance. But still... oh, whatever.

"Eun Kyung, are you working hard or hardly working?" The teacher asks as he looks over my shoulder.

A blush creeps up my neck as I cover up the sketches on my notebook with the worksheet I was supposed to be working on.

"Sorry, Mr. Lee."

"Just make sure this doesn't happen again." He scolds.

"Yes, sir."

The bell rings, saving me from further embarrassment and scolding. Hwa Young laughs quietly, teasing me for getting in trouble. Mr. Lee quickly turns to her.

"The same goes to you, Miss Park. I better not catch you falling asleep again."

"Yes, sir!"

"Alright, now scram out of here."

"That's what you get for laughing." I say and stick out my tongue as we walk to the locker room.

"Whatever. Maybe if he was less monotone I would try to stay awake. But he just drones on and on and on."

"Careful, he might here you.

As usual, Chung Hee gives us a snide look. Hwa Young rolls her eyes and lets it bounce off of her.

It's loud in the locker room, no surprise. But as we walk in the chatter immediately stops. Instead, phones begin to ring with notifications from the classroom group chat that we're conveniently not a part of.

We quickly change into the gym uniform and walk to the gymnasium. Half of the class is already gathered in the center talking. As we walk in some girls give me the evil eye. I look at Hwa Young confused. She gives me the same confused look I have. We shrug it off. Probably Chung Hee spreading rumors again. Today we're playing soccer outside so we walk out to the field. The teacher puts us into two teams. Team A and team B. Unfortunately, Hwa Young and I aren't on the same team. I think the teacher separated us on purpose.

Today's game is going a lot more aggressive than usual. The girl next to me walks closer to me. Her name is Eun Bi.

"Eun Kyung-ah, you're so lucky."

"Why? Did something happen?" I ask.

She smiles. "Oh, you don't know yet."

"Know what?"

She just keeps on smiling."I'll let you find out for yourself- Look out!" She suddenly says.

Being the dumb person I am, instead of ducking I turn towards where she's looking and see a soccerball coming straight at me. Suddenly I'm lying on my back with my head pounding.

I touch an already forming bump on my head and hiss at the pain. "Ah, not again."

Everyone crowds around me. The teacher forces his way to me.

"You okay, kid?" He asks.

I nod and try to get up but fall right back down. "Maybe just a little lightheaded."

The teacher sighs."Hwa Young, take her to the nurse. Chung Hee, I want to speak to you."

Once I get up Hwa Young puts her arm under me to try to carry me. I must be really heavy to her. We finally make it to the nurse's office and I get laid down on a bed with an ice pack. Hwa Young was sent back to class. I hear some voices passing by.

"... and this is the nurse's office. Come take a look."

Two familiar faces walk in. The principal and... Min Ho?

"Oh, I didn't know anyone would  be in here. Sorry to disturb you." The principal says.

I quickly get up and bow. "No, it's okay."

"Eun Kyung-ssi! This is your school?" Min Ho asks excitedly.

"You two know each other?" The principal asks.

"Yes, sir." I say.

He smiles."That's good. Now the new teacher will have someone to talk to."

The two men chuckle.

"Are you okay though?" Min Ho asks concerned.

"I just got hit with a soccerball." I reply.

"Let me see." He says and comes closer.

He sits down in the edge of the bed, next to me, and takes off the ice pack. He winces at the ugly bruise that I'm sure has already formed. His face comes even closer and stops a couple inches away from my face. I gulp nervously. Why is he so close? Hasn't he heard of personal space?

"Ouch. That looks like it hurt."

I push him away flustered. "Y-Yeah, it did. But I'm fine. It's not the first time this happens."

Min Ho looks taken aback by my comment. "It's not?"

"Oh, I'm just clumsy is all." I say hurriedly.

I almost gave Chung Hee away. Another bruise on my forehead would then be the least of my worries.

"Oh, okay. You had me worried there for a second."

"So what will you be teaching here, Min Ho-ssi?"

He smiles. "I'm the new history teacher."

My smile falters. That means he'll be my teacher. What if he finds out I'm being bullied and tells mom?

"That's great. Well, I'll let you continue the tour of the building. Don't mind me."

"Okay, I'll see you later."

I nod. "Yeah."

When they leave I finally relax. What am I going to do? Not only am I worried that he'll tell my mom, but as petty as I may sound, I'm worried he'll see just how much of a pathetic loser I am. Then, I'll never even get to talk to him again.

I flick myself. Is that even the problem right now? Ugh, what am I going to tell mom today? How long will she keep buying the same story.

I sigh. At least, Hwa Young had brought me my phone. I scroll through Twitter and see that BTS tweeted over half an hour ago. They were announcing the winner.

The winner must be very lucky. Huh...Lee Eun Kyung? It can't possibly be me. That would be too good to be true. Besides, they would have called right?

After staring at my phone for 10 minutes, waiting for a call, I call it quits. At least I share the same name as the winner. This must be what Eun Bi was talking about. No wonder everyone was mad. Too bad I'm not the one chosen. At least then this bruise would have been worth it.
