After the uhm... situation, Elijah continued to lead me to his secret hideout. Not going to lie, considering Elijah doesn't like people much, I feel honoured that he is showing me something so personal. Unless... he is going to kill me. Wait-"Climb up here"he points to a ladder that scales up the side of the building in front of us. I look back to him with a weary face. 'What?'
"Are you going to murder me?" I anxiously question him. I know I sound stupid.
"No" he says bluntly, the sides of his mouth lifting slightly as he ushers me up the ladder.
"Don't stare at my ass" I chuckle as we climb, I swear I feel him roll his eyes behind me. As I stumble over the edge of the top step, I am met with the stunning view of Los Angeles. Kingston High is set at the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful city. Every light I see is a different persons life, I'm in love.
'You like?' He questions.
'It's beautiful' I say walking over to the edge. The roof top is a large space that they decorated with tables, chairs and beanbags. A wooden sheltered area sits on one corner behind the stairwell leading into the building. Fairy lights are strung around every surface. It looks perfect. I follow Elijah who drags two beanbags to the side of the building, watching the view in front of us. I slump down in the seat 'how?' Is the only thing I can say. I'm speechless. In awe.
'This is the music building so people never come up here. Kayden found it when he kicked our soccer ball up here. Only me, kayden, Mason and now you know about it' he explains. I'm going to cry. Does he trust me?
'I feel honoured' I chuckle. He gives me a side glance and smirks slightly. We sit in silence as we stare at the view in front of us. I hear him pull something from his pocket and spark a lighter. My kind of guy. 'I think we're soulmates' I chuckle as I grab the blunt from his hand and take a hit, blowing it out in front of us.
'Why are you here?' He questions me.
'I'm a talented football player, what do you mean' I gasp sarcastically as I grab my heart in shock. He looks at me and shakes his head, an amused expression on his face. I'm going to need to be high to answer this. I take the blunt again and take a few long hits of it until I feel a bit lighter 'My aunt wanted to get rid of me. Well, she kicked me out' I say with no emotion. Emotions get you nowhere in life.
'Your aunt kicked you out? What about your parents?' He asks, seeming confused. I sigh and take a couple more hits, leaning back completely in my seat.
'They died' I say. Silence. '9 months ago'
Silence engulfs us. What is he thinking? Does he think I'm weird? Does he want to throw me off the roof? I normally enjoy silence but this is scaring me.
'E, you got a blunt?' An assholes voice shouts from behind us. I groan and turn around to him, giving him the finger. 'Why so cranky?'
'Your girlfriend ruined my mood. Now fuck off' I mumble, taking another hit to finish off the smoke. I put my hand out to Elijah as he passes me another one. He makes one up for all of us as Kayden grabs a beanbag and sits down next to us.
'Quick fuck?' Elijah says, blowing out the smoke in circles.
'Almost being choked to death kinda ruined the mood' Kayden scowls at me.
'She deserved it man' Elijah says, standing up for me. I want to hug him.
'Yeah, I know. I'm sorry I couldn't say anything. She's pissing me off' kayden groans as he takes a hit.
'Why couldn't you say anything?' I ask curiously. Kayden groans at the question.
'Sofia, the girl you almost killed' Elijah chuckles 'her father is on the soccer college board and she has basically threatened Kayden into dating her otherwise she will make sure his chances for a soccer career are ruined' he grumbles, clearly caring about his friend.
