Prose 002: 'To the Guy Who Struggles A Lot to Remember.'

"If you're reading this right now, probably there's something that's not so good that had happen. I hope that no matter what that 'something' is, you can still smile while reading this and the succeeding letters on the next pages. I really hope I'm beside you while reading this though, smiling back at you and hoping that our time together can last forever.

Right now, the thing that I wanted to tell you the most is that I really miss you. We're not talking lately, and I admit that at first, I felt really bad about it. I was hurt. But you know, I've read something that cleared my mind. I guess that's what exactly what I needed to hear back then.

They say that love is not always happy and exciting. It is not always about expectations. It's not about what you thought someone would give or do for you.

Love, I learned, is about what you do when it's not exciting anymore. It's what you do to keep the fire alive when your significant other is not strong enough to do it alone. It's about how you make him feel that you still love him even though he's not able to say it to you because he's too preoccupied.

Just then, I remembered the quotation I have read when I was fifteen; exactly four years ago. They said that the 'purest' kind of love is 'love without attachment.' It is about pouring and giving love to your significant other because you're already full – because you know to yourself that no matter what happens, you'll never run out of love and reasons why you'll fight for him.

But how can I do that, if you are avoiding me?

Ever since that September first, I never really stopped loving you. I loved you even before you said that you love me too. I loved you even during the times when I knew that you don't feel the same way towards me – even though I know I would just hurt myself in the process.

I was prepared; but I didn't have the slightest idea that it would hurt this much."
