Halstead! - Jay Halstead - Chicago PD

*May 2010*

"Halstead! Get your ass off the floor!" I yelled

"Sorry Luitenent!" Jay said professionally

"Okay! We've got a hostage situation that involves us somehow! Bloody police can't handle their selfs! I want you to follow every instruction your given got it?!" I yelled pacing up and down the line of men in front of me

"Got it!" They all yelled

"Halstead!" I yelled stopping at Jay who smirked

"Of course Luitenent" Jay added

"And wipe that fucking smile off your face!" I shouted

Everyone loaded up and we got to the scene, I was approached by a police Sargent

"Sargent Hank Voight" Voight said as he held out his hand

"Luitenent Y/L/N! What's going on?" I asked completely ignoring his hand

"Oh shit! She's a woman! How embarrassing!" A police man yelled

"And I suggest you shut your god damn mouth before I shut it for you!" I yelled

"Is that a threat?" The man asked, all cocky

"It's a promise" I muttered

"We've got a hostage situation, a man is inside reportedly with multiple explosives. Like enough to take out the whole of Chicago" Voight said

"We're not the bomb squad Sargent, but I'll see what my men can do" I added before walking off

The mission goes smoothly and no one gets hurt, I then turn around to see Voight chatting up one of my best officers

"Halstead! Did you do the clean up procedure like I asked?!" I yelled waking over to them

"I did Ma'am!" Halstead said as he smiled

"I was just talking to Jay about maybe transferring to the CPD, his skills are excellent!" Voight praised

"Well Halstead is one of my best officers and your not stealing him that easy!" I yelled before dragging Jay away

It's later that night and I'm sitting in my kitchen, preparing dinner. When I heard a knock at the door

"Halstead" I said as I noticed who was standing outside

"Oh please we both know you always call me that on shift" Jay said as he walked in

"I'm always on shift sweetheart" I explained as he turned around

"Now that's the name I prefer" Jay said as he stepped closer to me and kissed me passionately

"I've been waiting all day for that" I said as I pulled away

"That makes 2 of us" Jay said as he pulled me close again

A year went by and I couldn't be more happier, things were going great with work. The only complicated thing was dating Jay but oh my it was so worth it. Jay had slipped me a note today saying he had some news and it's safe to say I was dreading it.

"Hey" Jay said as he walked in

"What's up?" I asked, noticing Jays facial expression

"I'm joining the CPD, I leave tomorrow morning" Jay blurted

"What? No your not? I've not had your transfer form?!" I protested

"I am, I went through Luitenent lynch, I leave first thing" Jay admitted, staring at the ground

"So that's it? Everything over the last year has meant nothing to you?!!" I yelled, the inner Luitenent was coming out and I couldn't stop it

"Your my boss! It was never going to work out anyway!" Jay yelled

"Copy that, have a fun life Jay! Your gonna regret this!" I yelled before walking away

*June 2018

It's 8 years later and I am now a Lieutenant General, which means that I oversee all of the army units in America. It's the 2nd highest grade and I've made a life for myself. I haven't heard from Jay and he is supposedly living his best life.

"Luitenent! You need to see this!" An officer yelled as I ran over to him

He then hits play on a video

"Killing my brother then sending his friend down for life? That's sad! Isn't it Luitenent Y/L/N? I'm coming for you and the outcomes not gonna be pretty!" A masked man yelled

"I need the best detective unit in Chicago now!" I yelled

A day went by and I found myself outside the 21st district, I walked in and was greeted by an old - ish woman at the front desk

"I'm assuming your Luitenent Y/L/N?" Platt asked

"What gave it away?" I asked

"The uniform, the units upstairs" Platt explained as I started to walk away

I walked into the office and instantly recognised him

"Halstead" I added as his eyes looked up at me

"Y/N?!" Jay said as he walked over to me and gave me a hug

"I didn't think you'd last in the CFD?!" I said as I pulled away

"Neither did I! What rank are you now?!" Jay asked

"Lieutenant General! Slowly climbing my way to the top!" I explained as Voight walks in

"Ahh Y/N! I was expecting a visit from you!" Voight explains

"What's going on?" Jay asked

"Well it's kind of a long story..." I explained
