"Dad please!" I yelled as I saw him clench his fists
"You don't answer back to me young lady! You hear me!?" Eric yelled as he slapped his daughter across the face
"Dad!" I yelled as I held my cheek
"Get to your room, I have people coming over" Eric announced
"But why?" I asked, slightly shaking
"Because I said so!" Eric yelled as he kneed me in my stomach
"S-Sorry" I muttered before walking into my bedroom
I sat in the corner of my bedroom, my legs curled up towards my chest. After a while I heard shouting coming from the kitchen, smashing of beer bottles and the smell of smoke slowly filled my bedroom. I was sat there for around an hour until I heard commotion coming from the kitchen
"LAPD! Get your hands where I can see them!" A man yelled
I slowly stood up, opened the door and walked out. A man softened his look when he saw me, he walked over to me and knelt down
"Hey kid" He said
I looked down
"My name's Daniel but people call me Hondo what's your name?" Hondo asked
"Y/N" I muttered
Hondo then smiled and caught a sight of my bruises
"Why don't we take you somewhere safe?" Hondo asked as he held his hand out
I nodded slowly and took his hand, as we walked out I saw my dad bleeding out on the floor
"Don't look princess" Hondo said as he guided me away from the scene
They put me in a car and drove me down to this station. He then sat me down in a room and he sat next to me
"Where'd those bruises come from sweetie?" A woman asked me
I then looked down and Hondo smiled
"I've got it from here Chris" Hondo added
Hondo then knelt down in front of me
"My dad" I admitted
"Okay and how often did he do this?" Hondo asked
"Whenever his "friends" came over, he didn't want them to see me" I added
"Well done kiddo, your so brave" Hondo said as he smiled
A few days later and Hondo was walking into work along with deacon
"What are we doing about the girl?" Deacon asked
Hondo then sighed
"What?" Deacon asked
"I know your not going to like this, I'm taking her in" Hondo said
"What?! Are you out of your mind!" Deacon yelled as he stopped
"That little girl has no where to go! She needs to have a place where she feels safe!" Hondo argued
"Hondo you know we can't get attached to the victims! We just can't!" Deacon yelled
"Why not? She needs a stable home!" Hondo added
"And you think you can give her that?" Deacon said
"I'm positive" Hondo said as deacon sighed and he walked in
An hour later Hondo has gathered the team to tell them the news
"Your adopting her?!" Chris asked
"Hondo, you can't be serious" Luca said
"Oh I am, she's coming home with me" Hondo said
"I still think your screwing up her life!" Deacon yelled
*10 years later*
I grew up with the best family possible, Hondo adopted me when I was 8 and I grew up surrounded by the whole team. They were there for me through thick and thin. They helped me through all my boy troubles...Well Chris did. I couldn't have had a better family
"Well hello there" Chris said as she smiled
"Hi Auntie Chris!" I said as I hugged her
"Tomato!" Luca said as he wrapped me into a big bear hug
"Will you stop calling me that!" I argued
Let's just say I went through a "phase"
"Hi honey" Deacon said as he hugged me
Deacon hated the idea of Hondo adopting me yet I'm sure he loves me more than Hondo
After a day at the station I was walking out with Chris
"You saved him and I hope you know that" Chris said as she took a swig of her coffee
"Hmm?" I asked, not really paying attention
"Hondo...You saved that man" Chris said
"I know I did, and he saved me" I smiled as chord wrapped her arm around me
