Off Limits - Wallace Boden + Matt Casey - Chicago fire - Part 2

I walked out of my dads office, shaking, but not trying to show it. I walked to the bathroom and splashed water onto my face when I heard someone come in

"Good job out there" A man added

I turned around to see Casey standing, with his arms folded, he didn't look upset. So why was my dad?

"Sorry?" I asked, not sure weather or not to make eye contact

"I said good job out there, I could see you coming for my job!" Casey added as he laughed

"Yeah well, I'm sincerely sorry again Captain. It won't happen again" I promised

"Hey even if it does, I won't tell chief" Casey whispered before ducking out the door

It's now a year later and I'm still at 51, although I'm not the candidate anymore so that means no more cooking. My dad has learned that no matter how high the officer is ranked I'm still going to disagree with them. I had a problem with my apartment but moved in with Stella and Kelly.

"So have you confessed your love for the man yet?" Stella asked as she pours herself a shot of vodka

"He's my captain Stella! We've been through this!" I explained

"Mhm" Stella said before taking the shot

"You guys not coming to Molly's tonight?" I asked grabbing my bag

"Nope, tonight is date night" Stella explained

"Okay, we'll have fun" I said before slipping out the door

An hour later I arrived at Molly's, I walked in and was greeted by Boden

"Hey dad!" I said before hugging him

"Hey! How's living with the Severide's going?" He asked as we sat down at the bar

"Yeah they're okay. How's donna doing? How far along is she now?" I asked

"She's 8 months, so just a month left to go" Boden explained

"That's great, I'm really glad you get to be a part of it this time round" I explained as I saw my dad smile

"Here she is!" Boden said as he walked towards Donna

"Hey Y/N" Donna said as she dropped her hands from her large bump

"I'll let you guys have some privacy" I said before slipping away

I came away from the conversation feeling a little down, yet I didn't know why. So I sat down on my own at a corner table in the back. I then saw Casey approaching with 2 drinks in his hands.

"I saw you sit at the bar yet you didn't come away with a drink, so I thought I would be your knight in shining armour" Casey said as he handed you your drink

"Thank you captain" I said as he sat down

"Remember it's Casey off shift, now what's going on with you?" Casey asked as I took a sip of my beer

"What do you mean? Nothing!" I argued

"After your conversation with chief and Donna over there, your face says otherwise" Casey added

"When my mom found out she was pregnant with me she took off, then came back when I was born. Left when I was 4 and came back when I was 6, then left again. I've not seen her since. I just think it's weird how they get to play happy families but I don't" I explained as I looked over at my dad touching her bump

"Hey I get you, my parents weren't in the picture either, you've just gotta hold it together" Casey said as he smiled softly

"Yeah I guess" I said looking towards the floor

It's a few mornings later and 51 are on shift

"Something feels off" Mouch said as he walked into the common room

"What?" Herrmann asked

"Truck 81, Squad 3, Engine 51, Ambulance 61, High rise fire, North western tower-block" The intercom echoed throughout the firehouse

"Bingo!" Mouch muttered as they all ran out

We arrived at the scene minutes later, a 30 floor high tower was on fire and spreading fast. The captains gave out assignments and everything was going great. Until I was on the 30th floor,kicking down doors along with Casey. When we went into a room the door shut and locked with no way of getting out. We tried radioing but it was no good. Casey then turned to me and as he did our radios switched back on without us knowing

"I'm just going to come out and say it!" Casey announces

"What?" I asked looking up at him

"I love you Y/N Boden! I have since the minute I met you! I mean god who wouldn't love you! I know your dad is going to kill me but I'm willing to make that sacrifice!" Casey yelled

"I love you too Matt" I said as he picked me up and kissed me

*Meanwhile outside, 5 minutes later*

"Are they?" Stella asked

"Making out? Yeah" Kelly said as he switched his radio off

"I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch!" Boden yelled as 5 firefighters came running out with me and Casey behind them

"Y/N! Thank god!" Stella said as she ran over and gave me a hug

"Imma give you 5 seconds to start running" Boden stated

"Huh?" Casey asked

"1...2" Boden said as Casey started to run

The whole of 51 burst out laughing and the fire eventually went down.
