And so this is Christmas! - Jay Halstead- One Chicago

"Oh, I just want you for my own, More than you could ever know. Make my wish come true! Baby, all I want for Christmas... is you. You, baby!" I sang as I heard a giggle come from the passengers seat

"Your crazy! It's 7am!" Casey argued

"Yeah Y/N I've got to agree with him" Kelly said from the backseat

"I'm trying to sleep!" Gabby protested

"Yeah well try being stuck in between you two!" Stella announced

"Hey!" Gabby and Kelly yelled

"Will you guys quit nagging! It's the first of December! Everyone knows the rule is you can start singing Christmas songs on the first of December!" I said happily

"I am looking forward to decorating the firehouse" Stella admits

"See! And we have the annual Christmas party with Med and the District coming up!" I said as we arrived at the firehouse

I had been a firefighter for 6 years now, I worked on squad 3 alongside Kelly. I had started out as a paramedic but needed a little more action so I worked hard and got placed on squad. It was the best job in the world.

"How is Jay?" Gabby asked as she climbed out the car

"He's doing good" I said grabbing my bag from the trunk

"He didn't stay over last night? Everything okay?" Gabby asked as we started to walk in

"Yeah, he just had to work late. That's all!" I explained

I had been dating Jay for 2 years now and let's just say we had hit a rough patch. He had been distant but we'd been working through it. I had been focusing on work and so had he.

"Will you hurry up?!" Kelly yelled from the bottom of the ladders

"Well I'm sorry the attic is the size of Bigfoot!" I yelled from the attic

"I have better things to do!" Kelly protested

"Oh please! We both know you love decorating the tree as much as I do!" I said as I climbed down the stairs with a box in my hands

I put the boxes on the floor and everyone gathered in the common room

"Okay! Herrmann and Mouch! I want you two to set up the tree in the bunk room! Severide and Casey I want you two to put up the tree in the common room!" I said as I handed them the box

"Why do we need 2?" Kelly asked as he picked up the box

"Who doesn't?" I replied

"Me and Gabby will decorate the firehouse!" Stella said as she picked up the boxes

"Great! Cruz and Otis! You can decorate the insides of the trucks!" I said as they smiled like 5 year olds

"Yay!" Otis squealed

"I can't wait!" Cruz said as he picked up the box

"See they get me! Let's get to work everyone!" I said as they all went and done their jobs

Everyone else just helped decorate the trees, after 6 hours(and many many calls) the house was looking magical. There was fairy lights and tinsel in the trucks, the trees had red bobbles on them with lights. Every other room was decked out in festive decorations.

"Ahh! I love it!" I said as I looked around the firehouse

"And I made Christmas cookies to go with the excitement!" Capp said as he pulled them out the oven
