A/N: every other day just means when i feel like it honestly (and if i have a chapter).... but thank you so much for 200+ votes <333

"Speak. Now." Izana demanded as soon as Koko shut the door behind the two of you.

Koko looked at you for a brief moment before turning to Izana. "I want to recruit Inupi."

Izana kept quiet, and that only made you and Koko more nervous. But it seems that your worries were all for naught, because next thing you knew he was nodding his head. "Okay."

You and Koko looked at each other before turning back to him. "'Okay'? That's it?"

"If you didn't want me to agree then you shouldn't have asked." Izana replied sharply and that immediately shut both you and Koko up.

"Thank you, Izana." Your voice was softer than you would've liked, unable to hide the fact that you were surprised at how easily he agreed.

At least, until you realized why.

"If that's all, leave. I'm tired." He shooed you both away. You and Koko turned to leave, at least until he spoke again, finger pointing at you lazily. "You stay."

Koko looked at you, and you could see the slight concern in his eyes. You reassured him that you were fine and ushered him out, closing the door behind him as you turned back around to face Izana.

"You understand why I agreed, don't you?"

You nodded once. "Because it will motivate Koko to fight for Tenjiku."

"Is that all?" He looked at you with hooded eyes, leaning his back into the couch.

You tilted your head slightly. "Was it not?"

"I know Inui," Izana started, pushing himself off the couch as he began walking over to you. "I've seen him in action back when he visited Shinichiro's shop, back when he followed me during my rein in the 7th generation Black Dragons."

He stood in front of you and you were forced to tilt your head up slightly to meet his eyes. "And?"

"And," he repeated. "He's strong, I'm well aware of that. Stronger than most."

"But you're even stronger," you retaliated. "All of Tenjiku is stronger than Toman. They're not only out-strengthened but outnumbered too."

He leaned down slightly, a little too close for your liking, but you stood your ground. "Haven't I taught you, Y/N? Just because they seem like an easy enemy, doesn't always mean they are."

"You want Koko to prioritize taking down Inui," you concluded.

He hummed slightly, straightening himself as he smiled. "More of, distracting him while we take care of the rest."

"I understand," you said, watching as he backed away from you.

"If you understand, go tell Kokonoi that if he convinces Inui to join Tenjiku, he can take up a good position," he ordered, and you immediately complied.

"Yes, Izana."

* * *

After telling Koko about the position left open for Inui, you headed home with Ran and Rindo back to Roponggi.

The two of them were trying to ask about what you and Izana talked about but you remained quiet, keeping them in the dark just as they've done to you.

"Come on, Y/N!" Rindo groaned, flopping back into the couch as you sat cross-legged with a bowl of chips on your lap. "Just tell us already!"

You kept quiet, allowing his voice to go in one ear and out the other as you continued watching TV.

Ran sighed, standing up from the couch. "Let's just give it up, Rindo. She's clearly not interested in telling us and that's fair, we haven't been so open with her either."

Yes, thank you! At least I know one of my brothers still has a working brain, you thought, rolling your eyes.

"So you were aware," you scoffed.

Ran stared at you, brows pulling together slightly. "I don't like that tone, Y/N."

You looked at him dead in the eye. "Didn't know I had to speak according to your liking."

"Easy." Now Rindo stepped in, his expression was both concerned and confused, yet it showed his clear displeasure for the way you spoke.

"What's gotten into you today?" Ran asked.

You sighed, getting off the couch as you walked over to the kitchen, empty chip bowl in hand. "Nothing, I'm sorry. I'm just in a bad mood."

Ran and Rindo looked at each other, clearly concerned as they turned to look back and watch as you walked toward the door after setting the empty bowl down in the sink.

"Where are you going?" Rindo asked.

"To cool off," you replied, slipping on your shoes and heading out, closing the door behind you.

It wasn't either of them, really. You were just moody since that time of the month started this morning, and hit hurt like a total bitch.

You didn't wanna tell them either, they might've gotten a bit awkward about it if they knew. Instead you headed out of the apartment building, scrolling through your contacts before finding Inui's name.

Your finger hovered over the call button for a moment before you sighed, shutting off your phone and slipping it back into your pocket.

You wanted to see him, really really badly. But it obviously wasn't the best time right now, and you couldn't talk to Mitsuya or Emma either since it was a risk not just for you but for them too.

Speaking of Emma, you missed the girl dearly. It had been a few weeks since you last went out together on a little shopping date. You didn't actually have any female friends since gangs were a male-dominated scene, so after having a taste of what its like to have a female friend for the first time, you couldn't help but suddenly feel deprived.

Tomorrow was the day of the showdown between Tenjiku and Toman. After having the gang injure two of their captains and the entirety of the first division, everything was finally falling into place.

At least you thought it was, until you heard about Izana's newest recruits. You didn't like either of them one bit. Kisaki was clearly a level-headed manipulative jerk, and Hanma was his annoying henchman.

Unfortunately you couldn't say anything, you had felt it in your blood that Izana wouldn't care of your suspicions. But much to your surprise, someone else did, and that someone just so happened to be Kakucho.

Both you and Kakucho were wary of the two, but only Kakucho voiced it out to Izana, which only proved you right when he completely turned him down.

You didn't know why exactly Kakucho was so reluctant on keeping them here, but that was his business, not yours. And you decided to keep your nose out of it.

As you walked, your mind drifted to the different possibilities that could occur on tomorrow's showdown. Not that it mattered much to you, because Tenjiku was strong, and you trusted Izana to carry out his plans.

You wouldn't be there anyway, you were going to be guarding Baji close by. And if anything happened, Ran and Rindo would back up Izana, you trusted them to do just that.
