The man swung, his speed was commendable, but he wasn't fast enough, because as soon as he moved, you were already gone, and he found himself stumbling forward a few steps.
"Y/N!" Emma was frantic, panicking at you trying to take on a large man.
You were too immersed in the fight to care, getting behind the man and kicking his back, forcing him to stumble on all floors on the ground.
"What the hell!?" He charged again, turning around with another powerful punch.
You dodged it smoothly, only moving back a little as his knuckle grazed your cheek. You kept your hands in your pockets, lifting your leg and sending a powerful kick onto the side of his head.
Next thing you knew, the man was passed out on the ground, drool leaking from the corner of his lip. Your sleeves had rolled down during the fight, so you smoothed them down carefully before going to pick up your discarded shopping bags.
"Are you okay? This guy is a total scumbag." You spat, glaring at the passed out man.
Emma simply stared at you in awe. "That was so cool!" She exclaimed, practically jumping on you as she hooked her arm around yours. "You're not hurt are you?"
"Nah, totally unscathed, don't worry." You smiled at her reassuringly. "Your brother coming or what?"
Speak of the devil, the sound of an engine roaring loudly through the streets approached quickly, and before you knew it a bike stopped in front of you two on the street.
Your jaw dropped when you recognized the man on the back of the bike.
"Mikey!" Emma smiled, letting go of you and greeting her brother with a quick hug.
No wonder Emma had looked so familiar, you thought, not realizing you were still staring.
"What happened?" Mikey asked, eyes locked on the unconscious man.
"That guy was a total asshole, but Y/N took care of it!" She explained as Mikey took her bags from her.
Mikey looked at you, and you couldn't help but keep staring, you found it insanely cool that you had just gone shopping with the sister of one of the most well-known names in the gang world.
"So Y/N, right?" He asked, a small smile on his face. "Thanks for taking care of my sister."
"Yeah, sure." You mumbled, shaking off your nerves.
"Do you need me to call someone to give you a ride home?" He asked.
You shook your head, waving him off. "It's alright, my bikes parked not far from here, thanks for the offer though."
"Oh right, Y/N! We should go shopping again soon, can I have your number?" Emma asked, a hopeful and expectant look in her eyes.
She held her phone out to you as you nodded, taking it with a smile as you put in your number, saving your first name as contact.
"Text me tonight so I know you got home safe, alright?" You handed her phone back, giving her a playful wink and smile.
"I will, bye!" She waved as Mikey stood his bike back up, handing Emma a helmet that she strapped on before the two of them took off, leaving you on the streets of Shibuya.
"What an eventful day." You thought aloud, turning your back and heading toward where you left your bike, bags in arm.
* * *
"I'm home!" You called out as soon as you entered your apartment.
There was no answer.
You assumed your brothers were probably out late as you took off your shoes, heading into your room to drop off all your shopping bags.
You nearly let out a scream when you turned on the lights in your room to find Ran sitting on your bed cross legged in his pajamas.
"Holy shit— don't scare me like that," you exhaled shakily, a hand resting on your chest in an attempt to calm your racing heart.
"Mind explaining to me why I got ¥500,000 off my card this afternoon." He gave you a pointed look, arms crossing over his chest.
"I did... a smidge of shopping." You gave him an innocent smile, arms behind your back.
"A smidge." He scoffed, uncrossing his legs and pushing himself up from your bed. He walked toward you as you attempted to keep your innocent expression believable. "I'll let this pass, but next time you're paying back every last drop."
"Got it, chief." You saluted him playfully, arms up in mock defeat as you carefully scooted around his figure.
At least until he caught your arm, tugging you toward him as you stumbled into his body. "What's this?"
"What's what— EW don't do that!" You pulled away when he licked his thumb and wiped your cheek.
"Why do you have a cut on your cheek, Y/N?" His gaze wasn't soft anymore, it was cold and harsh, and you didn't dare toy with him this time.
"I got into a little fight with some man on the street, I took care of it though so just let it go." You brushed it off, wiping your cheek.
"Was he from any gang? Who was he?" Ran asked, the seriousness in his gaze unwavering, it was to the point that even you were getting a little afraid.
"I told you it was just some guy on the street, I have no idea who he is or if he was even part of some gang for that matter." You winced when Ran's grip tightened painfully around your wrist. "Ran, let go, you're hurting me!"
Something in him seemed to snap the moment those words left your mouth. His grip was gone in a flash, and so was the look on his face.
You found yourself wrapped up in his arms, his hand caressed the back of your head carefully, as if you'd break at the slightest touch. His chin rested on top of your head, his heart pounding in your ears as you leaned on his chest.
"I'm sorry, I'm just worried. I didn't mean to hurt you." He apologized, grip on you tightening yet his touch remained gentle.
You wrapped your arms around his waist, giving him a reassuring squeeze. "I know, it's okay."
"Did you enjoy your shopping?" He asked, chin still resting on your head, like he didn't wanna let go yet.
You were completely okay with that, because Ran always took care of you without asking for anything return, so during times like these, his wordless pleas were one of the only ways you could repay him.
"I did. I met Emma, Mikey's and Izana's sister," you mumbled, hands mindlessly drawing shapes on his back. "I remember Izana talking about her for a little bit, he only mentioned her once but I know he cared about her."
"Will you hangout with her again?"
You nodded, "I hope I can, she was really nice." A sudden thought hit you as you leaned back to look at Ran, not completely leaving his hold. "Where's Rindo?"
"Sleeping, he was sleep fighting when I checked in on him earlier, better to leave him till he wakes up." Ran smiled.
You gave him a look. "You sure he wasn't having a seizure?"
That made Ran pause for a moment, a small grin forming on his face as he messed up your hair. "Little shit."
"Hey, I'm serious!" You laughed.
