*Rowan's POV*
I was sitting outside by the pool, soaking up some sun and reading a book. I was doing everything I could to get my mind off of Ashton. I was hoping to be left alone for a little, but of course, privacy is very unlikely when you're living in a summer house with four teenage boys.
"Rowan! Rowan!" I heard Calum shout. He sat next to me in the other pool chair. "What, Cal?" I asked, giggling. Even though they were all super annoying, they were adorbale. "So, Rowan! Let's talk about Ashton!" He said impulsively.
"No thanks, Cal pal. I'm trying to keep my mind off of him. I need some time to unwind. Where's Luke, by the way?" I said to him. "Uh huh yeah enough about Luke, let's just talk about Ash! How's that relationship of yours going?" He asked. "Why do you need to know that? What does it mean to you?"
"Oh I just wanted to make sure that my two best friends are happy! That's all! Are you guys happy?" He said. He was starting to get bothersome. "We're just fine, thanks for asking!" I snapped, going back to my book.
"Oh come on Ro! I know there's something on your mind!!!! Anything you maybe want to tell me?" "Nope" "Oh come on you can tell Cal! I won't gossip!" "Shush" "Anything about you two crazy kids loosing it on eachother and I don't know, say, decided to take a break?"
"How do you know that!?" I asked, shocked. "Oh I have my ways." He said with a smirk, knowing that he could easily get me to spill. "Calum!" I begged. "Fine fine!" He said, laughing. "I had a chit chat with Ashton and I solved the mystery of who hit who. That's basically what this whole argument is about, isn't it?"
"Get to the point!" I said impatiently, sitting up a little. I made direct eye contact with him. "Ashton was telling the truth, Rowan!" He exclaimed. "How do you know?" I questioned. "Well, after you two had your little squabble, Ash stayed in his room all day trying not to cry. When I finally got him to get his face out of his pillow, there was a big purple bruise on his jaw from where Luke supposedly hit him. Don't you see, Rowan?"
I sat there in utter surprise. Ashton was telling the truth all along, and I didn't believe him. Poor Ashton. "Calum! Where is Ashton?" I demanded. "His room, most likely. He hasn't come downstairs all morning." "I'm going to talk to him." I stated. I thanked Calum and gave him a hug before racing into the house and up the stairs to Ashton's room. I didn't even bother to knock.
Ashton whipped around to see me and jumped. "W-what are you doing in here?" He asked, as if he was apalled to see me. "Ashton. We need to talk." I said seriously. He sat down on the bed and looked up into my eyes. "What else is there to say? I've said everything I can. You want to take a break and I can respect that, I guess." He mumbled.
I sat down next to him and took his large hands into mine. I met my eyes with his glowing hazel ones that made my heart melt. He looked almost innocent, like he had been locked away in his room for a lifetime.
"Ash. You were telling the truth." "What made you change your mind?" "Calum came to me." He sighed and looked down at his thighs. "Ashton" He looked back up at me again. "I am so sorry I ever doubted you for a second. You were telling me the truth and I didn't believe you. I don't want to take a break. I don't want our relationship to end like this. I plan to confront Luke later on, but I need to make ammends with you. I'm so sorry any of this ever happened, Ash."
Ashton didn't say anything. He looked at me, examining my facial features. His eyes scanned my face before he pulled me into his embrace. "I-I love you so much Rowan." He sniffled. "I love you too, Ashy."
He pulled me out of his arms and looked me in the eyes again before pressing his lips to mine. I instantly kissed him back, treasuring this perfect moment between us. His tongue traced the bottom of my lip, looking for entrance, which I gladly gave him. My hands clasped around his neck tightly as I let out a little moan.
"Hey guys just wondering if everything is-" Calum shouted, running into the room, before covering his eyes. "Gross you guys!" He shouted. Ashton pulled away from me and smiled. "We're all good" Ashton said, eyes sparkling.
"Well that's good!" Calum smiled. His face became more serious. "Do we talk to Luke now?" "Might as well" I sighed. "Luke!!!!!" Ashton called
