The Loverboy

Date at Eight pt. 1

*Rowan's POV* 
​I was more nervous about this date than I had been about anything in a long, long time. I looked at the clock which said ​​7:05. That left me with fifty five minutes to get myself ready. I turned on my music on shuffle while I rummaged around my closet looking for an outfit to wear. I had no clue what to wear. I didn't want to go to McDonald's all dolled up, but I didn't want to wear jeans and a t-shirt somewhere nice, if you know what I mean.

​I decided I might as well just ask Ashton where we were going. I took my phone off the charger and pulled up his contact which was simply- Ashton Irwin. My other contacts were Lukey Pookey, Cal Pal, and Mikey the Kitten. I just wasn't sure how I felt about Ashton yet. "Fancy or casual?" I simply asked. I went back to applying concealer while I waited for his response. ​​​​"Casual. Just don't wear a potato sack ;)" He responded. Okay then.

​After I finished rubbing in my concealer and applying the rest of my makeup, I went back to my closet and decided on an outfit. I chose some dark skinny jeans, and a thin white top. The top had 3/4 inch sleeves and it was one of those shirts that is higher in front and lower in the back. To add on to the look, I chose green converse and a ​​​​necklace with a small gold anchor charm. I kept my hair strait as it was.

​​​​​By the time I finished, it was 7:51. I left my room and pranced down the stairs happily. I entered the kitchen to smell leftover Chinese food from last night. Chinese food was my weakness, but Ashton said we would eat while we were out so I held myself back. "You look nice!" Calum said from the island. He was sitting on one of the spinny stools. "Why thank you" I said twirling around. "Where's Ash?" I asked him. "I think he went out or something. He said he should be back by eight." Calum said, shrugging.

​*Ashton's POV*
​'Text from- Ro the lovely lady' My phone read. I had normal contact names for everybody, except Rowan, because she was oh so lovely. I opened the text. "Are you coming?" She asked. Since I was pulling into the driveway as I got the message, I didn't bother to respond. 
​
​I decided to surprise her. I quietly walked in the door and snuck up ​​​​behind her. "Hey beautiful" I said, tapping her shoulder. She turned around and smiled and gave me a hug. Gosh I'm so nervous.

​*Rowan's POV* 
​"Are you ready?" Ashton asked, giving me his hand. I smiled and said bye to Calum before gripping Ashton's hand and hopping in the car. He got the door for me on the passenger side before going to the driver's side. "So what do you have planned for this evening?" I asked, excitedly, yet nervously. "Well do you want to eat first or second?" Ashton asked. "First" I said, almost instantly. "What are you in the mood for?" he asked. "To be honest, Panda Express sounds super good right now." "Oh man I love that place!" "You do?!" "Yes!!!!!"

​We both gladly walked into Panda Express. There weren't took many people there. Ashton and I spent half an hour there eating and talking. We both ate pretty fast. ​​​​​​​​​​"Wow, you're like a machine!" Ashton said, as he watched me shovel fried rice in my tiny mouth. "Plank plu" I said, a mouth full of food. I was starting to feel a little more relaxed. "You're cute when you're eating like an elephant" Ashton pointed out. I covered my mouth while I laughed. I didn't want him to see all that mushed up food.

​After we ate, we hopped back in his car. The car was actually Michael's car. Only Michael and Luke had cars at the summer house. "Where to next?" I asked as I buckled my seatbelt.  ​​​​"How does roller skating sound to you?" he said, as if he knew that was my favorite thing ever. "Oh my gosh yes!" I squealed. "How did you know?" "A little birdie told me." He said with a giggle.
