You are different

"Rowan how could you?" Luke asked in disbelief. "Is it really that big of a deal?" I replied, annoyed. "Uh yes. Yes it is. What would your parents say?" Luke said. "Why should it matter? I'm eighteen now I can do what I want." I said. That was a true statement.

"Rowan. This is so unlike you. Do you not notice it? You aren't the same Rowan Evans that came to this house back in June. You've become so absorbed in your relationship with Ash that you will do anything for him, even change your personality for him. You're just so different, and not in a good way. I'm not the only one who notices it. Calum and Michael see it too. You need to open your eyes, Rowan." Luke said seriously.

"No, Luke" Was all I said. "I can do what I want without your approval. You aren't the boss of me, either. You've been a different Luke ever since Ashton and I got together. You're so protective now. You were never like this before. You act like my dad instead of my friend. For goodness sakes, you followed me along on one of my dates! And you wonder why we sneak out! I can't trust you to leave me be for one freaking date!" I shouted.

The anger inside of me was building up more and more every time I looked at him. The tears were building up in his eyes, but I couldn't care less. I was too mad to care. "Leave me alone, Luke. I've tried to talk it out with you but it is obvious you don't want to listen."

"Oh I'm the one who won't listen! I'm the one who's ignoring what everybody else has to say! No, you leave me alone, Rowan. You're the one who won't step back and listen. So I am done trying with you. Go away, just leave me alone." He snapped.

I was sort of shocked. Luke had never spoken to me like that before and it scared me. I glared at him before leaving his room and slamming the door shut.

*Ashton's POV*
I heard Rowan and Luke yelling upstairs. I didn't know what about now, so I scurried upstairs and stood outside the door listening. "Leave me alone, Luke. I've tried to talk it out with you but it is obvious you don't want to listen." I heard Rowan snap angrily. Yikes she was mad about whatever they were yelling about.

"Oh I'm the one who won't listen! I'm the one who's ignoring what everybody else has to say! No, you leave me alone, Rowan. You're the one who won't step back and listen. So I am done trying with you. Go away, just leave me alone." Luke replied even more angry sounding than Rowan.

I took this as my queue to run back downstairs. Ouch. I felt a sharp pain in my side. It was probably because even in the days of my bullying, I was never much of a runner. It wasn't my thing. I threw myself on the couch just as I heard Rowans angry footsteps coming down the stairs.

"Is everything okay, babe?" I asked, even though I knew it wasn't. I couldn't help but feel guilty for this. She huffed loudly and sat next to me on the couch, curling up against my chest. She was so cute when she was frustrated.

"It's fine. Luke and I just had a disagreement. We'll get over it." She explained. I smiled and gave her a quick peck before trying to situate myself on the sofa better. "Are you alright, Ashy?" She asked. I nodded. "Upset stomach." "Don't puke on me or anything." She joked. I laughed. "I wont."

"Is our relationship causing problems between you and your friends?" I asked. I knew the answer. "Yes. Luke thinks that it's changing me negatively. " "He'll get over it sooner or later. Just be nice, okay?" "Okay. I'm sure it will all blow over soon anyways." She said confidently. She smiled at me. Darn, I loved her smile so much.
