*Rowan's POV*

I sat there, deep in thought. Was making Ashton jealous really worth it? The more I thought about it, the more I felt bad about trying to make him upset. He was just being protective, something any good boyfriend would do. It wasn't like he did it for no reason. Still, I had a hunch he wanted his bad boy demeanor back, and that just had trouble written all over it. Imagine what his mum would do to him if he got in trouble again. She would probably send him right off to boarding school.

I decided that I should just apologize for being a drama bomb and go on with life. The bell rang, and so I quickly headed to my locker, hoping to avoid Brian. My wish was not granted. There he was, leaning against my locker, waiting for me with a smirk. "Hey doll." He said. "Please move." I said, practically pushing him aside and unlocking my locker. "Oh come on babe don't be that way." He smirked, moving in closer to me.

"No, Brian." I snapped, grabbing my things for my next class. "Don't act like you don't want me. We both know what you really want. You want me. I can see it. I know it when I see it and your mind is screaming for me, so just do yourself a favor and give in." He growled, grabbing my wrists.

"Brian, listen up and listen good. I have Ashton. He is my boyfriend, and the only one I want, so you just find someone else. I am sure that there are plenty of other girls who would be more than happy to beg for you all night long." I concluded. With that, I slammed my locker door shut. I was expecting to make a valiant exit, but Brian had different ideas.

He reached over and slapped my bum, making me gasp. I turned around slowly and looked right into his eyes. I wanted Ashton to show up and protect me. "That's right, good girl. Come to daddy." He said in a fake nice voice. I had no idea what to do. He grabbed my wrists and pinned me down against the locker. "Brian stop it!" I shrieked, struggling to break free.  Where was everybody?

"You better be in the back seat of my car after school, sweetie. I'll get what I want one way or another, because I always do." He said in a raspy voice. His face was only inches from mine. I used my knee to nail him in the nuts before I ran in the bathroom and locked myself in one of the stalls.

*Ashton's POV*

Class was about to start, and Rowan was nowhere to be seen. Maybe she was taking after me and skipping classes, or maybe she was making out with Brian in the backseat of his car. I was sitting down next to Kirstie, ready to smack lips with her the second Rowan walked in, so I could give her a taste of the jealousy. Kirstie was willing to help out and play along, because she said I was the last person on earth she would date.

Lindsay breathlessly ran into the classroom and took the empty seat next to me where Rowan usually sat. "Ashton I-I-I s-saw Rowan and she w-was-" She got cut off by more girls coming over to me. "Oh my gosh I cannot believe you took down Brian!" A girl with a bow in her hair squealed. "I wouldn't say take down..." I said, not understanding why so many girls were all of the sudden attracted to me. "Oh my gosh you are so cute!" Her friend giggled. "Your hair is so gorgeous! How do you get it like that?" An older looking girl asked. "I just wake up with it like this." I answered. "OMG wow you are so perfect!" She squealed. She blew me a kiss and pranced over to her seat. "Hey bro. Nice job on giving Brian the boot." A guy said, fist bumping me. "Uh thanks" I said awkwardly. This attention was odd, and I just wanted Rowan to get here.

"Ashton!" Lindsay practically shouted. "Oh yeah. What it is it?" I asked her. "Brian he he he he s-slapped her butt and they were about o k-k-kiss and he said something about getting in the backseat of his c-car and she she she she was pinned down and oh my gosh Ashton I think she's cheating on you and I don't ship her with Brian and I ship her with you and oh my gosh you HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!" Lindsay burst out.  That was the most I had ever heard her talk.

"Now that is what I call taking jealousy to the extreme." Kirstie snorted. I didn't believe she was trying to make me jealous. It was clear that she was cheating on me. I decided right then and there to break up with her. It was the only logical thing to do. But I might as well make her feel guilty.  I would make her jealous and clue around that I was angry with her so that she felt awful, then I would text dump her.

Just as I concluded my thoughts, Rowan walked in. I immediately grabbed Kirstie and kissed her. She kissed me back. It felt so real for a fake kiss, but I felt nothing. I knew she felt the same way. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Rowan's face fall. I saw the tears building in her eyes. My heart felt just as broken as hers probably did, but she cheated on me.

After the class was over, I approached her slowly. "Rowan, we need to talk." I said. "No Ashton, I get it. You found someone else."
