As the gang along with Zoie made their way to Fortree City Ashlyn was training with her Altaria and Corviknight doing insane aerial maneuvers and at every lap, the Pokemon finished, they increased their speed.

"I wish I could get an Altaria someday" May daydreamed as she set up the table for lunch

"Does Ashlyn always train her pokemon like this?" Zoie asked snapping May out of her daydream

"Oh um yeah" May answered before she looked at her pokemon who were also training on their own

"May?" Zoie called making May look at the nervous girl "Do you think I could ever be as strong as Ashlyn one day?"

"I'm sure you will Zoie," May said before she got up to head over to where her Lurantis and Axew who was getting help mastering Dragon Pulse from Flygon "I however am not even sure if I can"

"H-Help H-Help" May heard making her look towards the forest

"Zoie stay here pleased" May requested before she called over Eevee to take care of her Charmander egg and Blaziken to accompany her as she ran towards where she was hearing the voice "Someone is hurt but from what Ashlyn and Alain did say that a strong storm passed by here, so I shouldn't be surprised"

"Bluuu~~" May heard before she and Blaziken made a sharp turn to their left where they saw a small shiny Swablu with an injured wing under a fallen tree

"Blaziken get Swablu out of there" May commanded before Blaziken did exactly what her trainer requested "Hey Swablu, I'm going to help you alright?"

"St-Stay away, Help!" Swablu cried out before Altaria and Ashlyn arrived

"May?" Ashlyn asked before she saw the tiny pokemon which Altaria immediately flew over to calm the little one down

"It's alright little one they are nice humans" Altaria cooed at the little Swablu while nuzzling her gently "You can trust them, they will help you"

"Oh ok," the little Swablu said before Altaria gently allowed her to climb onto her back and carried her towards May and Ashlyn

"She must have been separated from her flock by the storm," Ashlyn said before May gently scooped up the Swablu being mindful of her injured wing "We should head to camp now though she'd better off healing in a secure location"

"Right," May said before they headed back to their campsite

Once they got back Alain immediately went to his bag and got most of their medical supplies out and began to treat Swablu while May watched intently

"There that should do it," Alain said as he  finished wrapping bandages around Swablu's injured wing as she slept through it

"How old do you think she is?" Ashlyn asked looking over the smaller than average shiny Swablu

"Probably a couple of weeks at best but she may be older," Alain said before a frown appeared on his face "Or she could have been the runt of the nest"

"O-Oh and adding in her shiny coloration oh no," Ashlyn said sadly

"What do you mean by that?" May asked as she petted the sleeping Swablu gently while Altaria watched almost protectively

"May parent pokemon aren't always so nice to some of their offspring," Alain said seriously "Oftentimes the youngest/weakest/ irregular offspring are the ones that are abandoned, ignored or in some extreme cases are well attacked"

"Why would they do that?" May asked in shock

"May pokemon may be intelligent creatures but you can't deny that they are still mostly driven by their instincts especially wild pokemon that have little to no human interaction" Ashlyn explained gently as she sat next to Alain in front of May "In addition to that humans may cherish and even treasure shiny Pokemon but to wild pokemon, they see them as a sort of curse bringer and will actively cast them away or abandon them. Do you remember aunt Winona's Swellow?"
