On their way to Fallarbor Town, the group grows weary as they walk through the unbearable desert heat.
"Nee-san, water please" Max begged
"Luckily we stocked up on freshwater before coming here huh," Ashlyn said as she gave Max his water bottle before allowing Pikachu to take a sip of her water
"Well at least Castform is enjoying his first time being a fire type," Alain said chuckling
"Good for him" May grumbled exhausted from the heat "Is there any place for us to take a break?"
"Sorry May but were still miles away from the nearest town," Ashlyn said looking apologetic "I'm beginning to regret allowing Gary to borrow Milotic for his research last night a rain dance would be just lovely right now"
"Hey what's that pokemon?" Max asked making them all look up only to see quadrupedal Pokémon that resembles a camel. It has two gray volcanoes on its back, a stout body with red shaggy fur, and three blue ring-shaped markings on both sides. It has banged on top of its head, droopy ears, and a tan fur-less muzzle. It also had a long necklace with a Cameruptite on it
"Camerupt," Ashlyn said before she pulled out her Pokedex

The Eruption Pokémon
Camerupt has volcanoes inside their bodies, which can erupt and spew lava from the humps on their back when angry.

"Huh, where are you going Camerupt?" Max asked as the eruption pokemon began to walk away only looking back before gesturing to follow me with its head
"I guess he wants us to follow him," Alain said before the all followed the eruption pokemon
A mile away they all found themselves in a cozy home that was owned by the Winstrate family who was extremely hospitable towards them
"Thank you so much for allowing us to rest in your home," Ashlyn said as she petted Pikachu
"Yeah I needed rest really bad," May said smiling as her Eevee slept on her lap on her
"You're welcome I'm just glad that Camerupt guided you here just in time," the nice elderly lady said
"Here's some more water, are you still thirsty?" a young girl around Max's age asked giving Max a cup
"Are you all pokemon trainers by any chance?"
"Well yes in a way," Ashlyn said
"Would you so badly mind battling our family?" Victor the father of the family asked them "You see we've been getting so bored from battling each other that new opponents would be so much more enjoyable"
"Sure," they all said smiling,
With that sorted, the Winstrake family escorts the group over to their purpose-built battlefield, complete with stadium seating and lights. The first round starts with May's Popplio versus Victoria's Roselia.
"What a cute pokemon" Vivi gushed
"Thank you," May said smiling before becoming serious
"Roselia Razor Leaf!" Victoria commands before Roselia is a small, light green bipedal Pokémon. It has three horns on top of its head, and it has black eyes with long eyelashes. Visible from the back is a small stretch of yellow coloration around its neck much like a collar. There are leaves extending from its shoulders like epaulets. It has a leaf skirt with a yellow stripe running down the front. It holds a rose in each of its hands, a red one in its right, and a blue one in its left. However, it is said that it will occasionally have unusually colored flowers send several sharp leaves towards Popplio
