The next morning after waving off Dinah and Malcolm, all four trainers were on their way to the Mauville City Gym when suddenly Alain's egg finally started to glow indicating that it was hatching
"May, Max stay behind Alain the baby needs to see him first" Ashlyn said as she too stood behind the Kalosian after several minutes the oval shape of the egg finally morphed to that of a small fox, one the light died down it revealed a shiny Zorua who looked up at Alain then gave the cutest yawn before stumbling over to his new papa and falling asleep in his arms

"Oh my Gosh that was so cute" May squealed quietly as to not awaken the newly hatched dark type
"Oh wow a Shiny Zorua you're so lucky Alain" Max enthused as Castform and the other Pokemon went closer to Alain wanting to see the new baby
"Well papa lets head to the Gym" Ashlyn teased before walking towards the gym followed by her giggling siblings making Alain smirk at her before catching up to them
Upon entering the Mauville City Gym what they thought was the door has now turned into a horizontal escalator trapping them all inside. A sliding door closes behind the group as it begins to move forward. They all grew a little nervous as it speeds along the trail. It begins to wind drastically and then goes uphill. Max is now extremely nervous at this clinging to Ashlyn's waist tighter than ever before, May screams that she wants to get off as she held onto Pikachu, Eevee and Meowth while Alain was cradling Zorua in his jacket while holding onto Ashlyn's waist to keep her upright. They make it to the top and the platform begins to plummet down roller coaster style. May and Max scream louder as the scene is viewed on a video screen. It zooms out to show that Wattson is that one enjoying his little prank. He laughs to himself as he watches them.
"I see that Malcolm and Dinah didn't exaggerate anything" Alain said as he held Zorua closer
"From aunt Winona's stories this is physically harmless, mentally though is another story" Ashlyn said looking a bit green
"Well excuse me if I go mental right now" Max exclaimed as the roller coaster of crazy went on before long the platform leaves the lake and heads back into a tunnel. May shouts that the gym leader must be insane to put his challengers through this. The platform turns a corner where a sliding door opens. On the other side were Raikou.
