The next day after the success of May's first contest they all headed to route 110 to get to Mauville City where Ashlyn could get her next badge and meet up with an old friend
"The day is beautiful" May said happily still amazed that she won her first contest
"It sure is the sun isn't too hot and not a single rain cloud in sight" Ashlyn agreed as she petted Pikachu and Meowth who had taken to riding in her shoulders
"Hm?" Alain said as he noticed two pokemon who were surrounded by five Electrike who were all growling at the two Pokémon
"What going on?" Max asked confused
"I don't know but it's not good" Ashlyn said before she released her Absol who's every presence made all five Electrike flee once gone Ashlyn and Alain immediately went to check on the two Pokémon and were shocked to see the two were very sick and that they were protecting two eggs
"We should head to Mauville right now" Alain said before they all ran towards Mauville, she and Alain holding the two ill Pokémon as May held one egg and Max held the other
"Ashlyn-nee do you know what Pokémon they are?" Max asked as they ran
"Mhm those two are a Plusle and Minun as for the eggs I can't say" Ashlyn said just as they arrived at the Pokémon center and gave the two electric types over to Nurse Joy as well as the eggs
"Plusle and Minun huh?" May said before she pulled out her pokedex

"I wonder what that eggs would hatch into?" Max asked Ashlyn and Alain while May fantasized
"I don't know Max, Pokémon eggs could hatch into any Pokémon unless you know its parentage and since we don't know what either of their parents are. There is no way of telling but we could guess according to the color scheme of the egg which has a 60% chance of being correct" Alain said as he sat on the nearest chair
"What about your egg Alain what do you think It'll hatch into?" Max asked excited
"I could tell you but I want it to be a surprise" Alain answers smirking making Max pout
"When do you plan on challenging Wattson?" May asked Ashlyn
"Probably after lunch" Ashlyn said smiling at her younger sister who was clearly excited at the prospect of food

After Lunch, checking on Plusle and Minun May and Ashlyn getting the eggs a pair of familiar faces showed up
"Dinah! Malcolm!" Max called out making the cyan haired twins turn towards them
"Oh Hello Max, May, Alain, Ashlyn long time no see" Dinah said smiling as her brother as he gave Nurse Joy their poke balls
"Have you challenged Wattson yet?" May asked Dinah who just sighed
