Once Ashlyn, Alain, May, and Brendan had gotten the right amount of rest from their dangerous missions. They all decided to get lots of training, especially Ashlyn and May.
"There we go Magikarp knows Hydro Pump now, one more battle could definitely get him to evolve," Alain said making Magikarp jump in glee
"You really want to evolve don't you Magikarp, well I won't stop till your an amazing Gyarados we have two more days until the contest and if you haven't evolved just yet we'll just keep training hard till we can show everyone what an amazing Gyarados you will be," May said smiling at him as she knelt down next to her Magikarp in order to pet him "Ashlyn can you please help us"
"That's why I asked for Snom May," Ashlyn said cheekily "Well then let's start this battle shall we"
After roughly three hours of training as night has fallen over Fortree City, May and Ashlyn went back to the gym with their newly evolved Gyarados and Frosmoth
"Never though May of all people would one-day train a Gyarados" Winona told Steven who was helping her cook dinner
"Honestly I thought that Ashlyn would be the one to have a Gyarados and May would be the one with the Milotic," Steven said after chuckling at what his girlfriend said
"Well just goes to show us to never underestimate our nieces," Winona said smiling
"I agree with you," Steven said before hugging her around her waist
"So did you ask Wallace yet?" Winona asked as she continued to cook
"Yeah," he said smiling before telling her what the second champion of the region had told him
As the sun rose upon the horizon, the people of Fortree City were excitedly awaiting the opening of their beloved Feather Festival as well as the opening ceremony that includes spectacular aerial feats performed by their Gym leader and her two nieces. After the opening performance, everyone went their separate ways for the day until the contest starts
"That was a great performance" Alain praised Ashlyn who was walking alongside him
"Thanks, aunt Winona taught us all we know," she said before giving Pikachu a piece of her Altaria shaped cotton candy
"You really don't think that May's gonna have a problem with Gyrados?" he asked before giving Toxel a piece of his Taillow shaped cookie
"With how much support, love, and praises she's been giving him I highly doubt it but even if that does happen she'll be just fine her bond with Gyarados is already so strong despite being so new," Ashlyn said smiling before her Rotom Phone rang "Hello?"
"Hi Ashlyn" Allister's shy voice was heard followed by Pier's melodious voice
"Hi," Ashlyn said smiling
"Piers and I beat Raihan and Leon using mega evolution," Allister said excitedly
"Great job Allister" Alain praised before they saw Piers face behind Allister "Congratulations Piers"
"Thanks where are you lot?" Piers asked
"We're in Fortree enjoying the Feather Festival, May's having her contest tomorrow morning so she's training with her new Gyarados and Swanna," Ashlyn said before taking Toxel from Alain
"You want us to show you her performance tomorrow so you can have at least a small understanding of what a contest is," Alain said as he took Ashlyn's Rotom Phone
"That would be great" they all heard Nessa exclaim before she appeared behind Piers and Allister "Can I watch too?"
"Sure I don't think May's gonna mind"
