65. Tears

*Third Person's POV*

"New... don't run... there's nothing there..." Nanny said closing New's eyes and turned him away from the scene.

New just sat in the car blanked out with all the scenes he saw playing around in his mind.

After few minutes Nanny sat in the car and New asked slowly "What about Mama and Papa?"

"We will search for them tomorrow. Don't worry." Nanny said forcing a smile.

"Nanny... don't lie." New said looking down.

"I am not. Let's go home okay." Nanny said slowly.

"What will happen to Mama and Papa?" New asked.

"Stop asking New. We will go home now." Nanny said seriously and New kept silent.

The cake which wasn't cut that day was never cut again... New never celebrated his birthday again...

New didn't know what happened afterward to his parents and where they got taken to and Nanny didn't tell him anything. Next day the police officers came to New's house...

"We need to talk to you." The officer said to Nanny and they went outside.

New saw them going outside and followed them.

"Are they the kid's parents?" Officer 1 asked.

"No." Nanny said shaking her head.

"But the kid was calling them as his parents." Officer 2 said.

"He's an orphan... the couple didn't have kids so they were letting orphans call them as their parents." Nanny said.

New was shocked hearing this but there weren't any tears flowing from his eyes nor his expression changed. From the time he saw the scene of the accident he didn't feel anything and he didn't know if he should feel something.

"We need to confirm what you said is true." Officer 2 said.

"About the kid... Shouldn't he go to the orphanage considering you can't take care of the kid cause of your age?" Officer 1 said.

"What will happen to the kid later?" Officer 2 asked.

"Hello, Officers." A person said while coming towards them with a smile.

"It looks like I came at the right time." The person said.

The person was a young man with a few kids behind him.

"Play with him." The person said to the kids showing New who was standing still.

Nanny saw New and realized that he listened to everything and felt sad.

"You are the relative of those people who died." Officer 2 said looking at him.

"Yes. I run an orphanage and these are the few kids who stay there." The person said.

"So what were you discussing?" The person asked and the officers explained the situation.

"What she said is true." The person said with a smile.

"The people who passed away asked me to look after the kid so I am here to take the kid with me to the orphanage." The person said looking at Nanny with a piercing look.

"It's good to hear that the kid will go to the orphanage. We got the information we need so we will leave now." Officer 1 said with a smile and both the officers left.

"I told you I won't give him to you." Nanny said glaring at him.

"Hmmm... I am not forcing you. I will come later." The person said with a smile.
