35. Money Hunt

*Tay POV*

New suddenly slammed the table with his hands and shouted at me. Then he left the place frowning. I could only look at his back leaving the place.

Did I make him angry? I thought we were just bickering like always... I think I made him angry forcing him to come with us... since we became close friends I wanted New to come with us all the time... I really didn't want to go without him... I really didn't want to leave him... I was feeling sad whenever he said he won't come... he became a really close friend so I really didn't want to leave him alone and go ourselves...

"We were forcing him to come." Earth said.

"Yeah... maybe we shouldn't have done that if he really doesn't want to come." Off said.

"I feel bad asking him to come." Gun said looking down.

We went back to class after feeling bad for always forcing him to come and we all realized that we shouldn't force him anymore.

While classes were going on New didn't even try to talk to us or even look at our direction. Either he was immersed in classes or dazed when the lecturer wasn't present in class.

In between classes there was an announcement that the results for the mock exam was posted on the university notice board. After our classes ended we wanted to talk to New but before we could do that he went away so we decided to just check the mock exam results.

We went to the notice board and tried to find our rankings.

"Tay's 44th... Earth's 32th... and mine's 41st." Off said looking at a sheet on the notice board.

"See? I am better than you." Off said smirking at me.

"You are just three ranks before me." I said frowning.

"Doesn't matter... I am still smarter than you." Off said putting a hand on his chin and posing.

"What's yours, Gun?" Earth asked ignoring us.

"What are you doing there? You won't be in the top ten list even if you see it upside down." Off said to Gun.

"I am not searching for mine." Gun said.

"Then who?" Off asked.

"New... I can't find him..." Gun said slowly.

"You won't be able to find him there." I said staring at the other sheet in front of me.

"Why?" Gun asked.

"Cause he's here... above yours." I said looking at the paper.

"Gun's 20th... New's 16th..." Off read out the ranks.

"Then he must have been called out before because of this." Earth said looking at the paper.

"We shouldn't have made New skip classes with us. I mean we do that all the time but he really wanted to study and get good grades." Gun said.

"If only I didn't say okay to skipping classes this wouldn't have happened." Gun continued feeling bad.

"It's not your fault Gun... it's ours... we all are his friends... We were agreeing to skip classes and he was the only person left so he had to agree to us..." I said.

"Now what do we do?" Off asked.

"We should first find out if these marks are going to be added to finals." Earth said.

We nodded to his suggestion and Earth and Off went to the staffroom to ask a lecturer about this. After some time they came back to the notice board where we were present.
