CHAPTER 3
MANY YEARS LATER
“That’s the worst way to miss somebody. When they’re right beside you and you miss them anyway.”
― Pittacus Lore, I Am Number Four
Years passed by, Legolas and Raenaslee did their duty very well, Legolas’ duties were archery lessons, fencing, went to places as his father commanded, but never at Meriltaurë, horse riding and duty being as a Prince of Mirkwood.
Raenaslee’s duties were also archery, fencing, healing arts, and horse riding, she was going to places where her mother commanded to go, but not Mirkwood, as she was born with love and strength, she can also gave strength to the weak when they need her and she appeared to them in the form of her soul. When Raenaslee asked which part of the family did she got her powers, her mother denied to her that Raenaslee was basically the daughter of the One, saying that Eru just gave it to her to use it for the good of herself and her kin, and the latter believed. And most of all, she’s doing her duty as the Princess of Meriltaurë. And also, people began to know her as the Elflove, and the more they’ve heard her name the more people adored and anxious to meet her.
What’s worse was for Fëaraen was she finally understood what Lady Elbereth told her last time, Raenaslee was going to sacrifice her life which meant by either of the two: death or suffering to free her people, if that would happened then the mother would rather die, too, but she doesn’t think it would happen so she must kept an eye on her no matter how brave her daughter was.
Raenaslee and Legolas, both of them did not meet each other again but just writing letters, sent by a dove.
Until Fëaraen wanted to talk to Thranduil about the One Ring, she asked Raenaslee if she wanted to come with her, but the princess refuse, because Fëaraen will only talk to Thranduil about the ring and it wasn’t on her duty to involve in their conversation.
In Mirkwood, Legolas was already awake and when he went down stairs, he never believed in his eyes that Thranduil was talking to Fëaraen.
Fëaraen: Legolas? Is that really you? (As she stands up)
Thranduil: (smile) Yes Fëaraen, it’s your favorite elven prince, Legolas.
Legolas: (after climb down at the stairs) it’s been forever, Bereth Fëaraen o Meriltaurë.
Fëaraen: Im gelir ceni ad Lin Legolas (I’m happy to see you again Legolas) and you’ve grown almost likely your father.
Thranduil: (laughed) but younger.
Legolas: Where’s Raenaslee?
Fëaraen: She’s doing her duties Legolas. But she never forgets her friendship to you, you know. You are truly handsome Legolas; I think you found some elf maiden that you love.
Thranduil: He doesn’t have one Fëaraen, for before he will love someone, he need see your daughter first.
