"Kenma! Run for it!" Kuroo yelled from the sideline. Kenma was half-sprinting towards the ball, but he wouldn't make it. The ball fell to the ground and bounced a couple of times. He could hear Kuroo smacking his tongue at him.
It is only a practice match, why does it matter? He got back in position for the next ball, while he could feel Kuroo's gaze staring daggers into his back.
"Kenma, what have I told you about giving it your all?"
Kuroo seemed annoyed, it was written all over his face. Kenma shrugged his shoulders and kept looking at the floor. Kuroo sighed. They didn't talk while changing back into their school uniforms. "It was only a practice match", Kenma mumbled when they got out. Even without looking he could tell Kuroo was shaking his head.
"The point of a practice match is to get the feeling of how real matches are." Kenma kept his gaze down on the road. How many times hadn't Kuroo said the same thing at this point?

"We're back", Kenma muttered as they entered the door. Kuroo closed the door behind them. Kenma's mom peeked her head out of the living room.
"Finally! I sat aside some dinner for you both, hurry up before it's cold!" Kuroo grinned before walking towards the kitchen. This was normal, for Kuroo to stay over at Kenma's place. His parents sometimes went out for work late, so he just joined Kenma home from school from time to time.
"Remember to wash up before you eat!" Kenma's mom yelled from the living room. Kenma dragged his feet towards the sink to wash his hands. Kuroo stood behind him, waiting for his turn. They ate in silence. Kenma tried using his phone, but Kuroo grabbed it and put it in his own pocket.
"No phones at the dinner table." Kenma squinted his eyes at Kuroo.
"This isn't your home; your rules don't apply here." Kenma hissed. Kuroo smirked and continued eating.
"No but eating together is more fun without you being on that thing." You're always on your phone, can't we at least eat without it? Kuroo thought to himself. Kenma continued eating while keeping his gaze at Kuroo's pocket.
He really doesn't like being without it, huh? After eating they put away the dishes and went up to Kenma's room. His mom had already prepared the guest futon for Kuroo to sleep on. Kenma jumped onto his bed and grabbed his game.
