Kuroo couldn't focus. He saw the teacher's mouth move, but it was as if he was under water, listening to someone talking on the surface. He was still in shock from what happened in the morning.
I can't even remember the walk to his place. It was as if his brain had shut off. He had also just walked right past his new girlfriend, who had to make a run after him.
She got great patient. She didn't seem to be angry at all. The class felt like it was going to last forever. Kenma's face kept popping into his mind. The way he had smiled. The tiny smile he had gotten when saying how dead he had looked. Kuroo shook his head, hoping no one noticed the grin he had gotten.
Yaku suddenly turned his chair and sat down by Kuroo's desk.
"So, how is the love life going?" He was smirking. Kuroo quickly sat himself up and started chuckling.
Is it lunch already? Shit, I need to go.
"Oh, it's great. We walked to school together today." Yaku leaned back in his chair, sighing.
"You are really living the life." Kuroo looked at the clock, before rummaging his bag.
"You meeting up with her now?" Yaku also looked up at the clock.
Did I not even bring lunch? Kuroo sighed before getting up from his chair.
"Yeah, I'll see you later." Yaku gave him a thumbs up before he went.
Practice later will be unbearable without food.
She was already standing outside of their classroom.
"Where do you wanna sit and eat?"
She is really a ray of sunshine. The opposite of Kenma. Kuroo looked around the hall.
"We could just find a bench nearby, that could work." She smiled and started walking down the hall. She was swinging her bento in her hands. As they found a bench, she gave him a confused look.
"Don't you have lunch with you?" Kuroo scratched his neck.
"No, I must've forgotten." She opened her bento and started shoving some of the food into the lid.
"Here, it's not much, but you got volleyball today, right?" He smiled and accepted the lid of food.
"Yeah, thank you." She smiled and started eating her food.
How lame of me, forgetting something that important. He slowly started eating the food he had gotten.
"It's really good", Kuroo said after a couple of bites. She lit up, her eyes glimmering.
"Thank you! I made it myself." Kuroo nodded his head while continuing eating. It really wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. As they ate, Kuroo had this feeling that she was discreetly moving herself closer to him. She kept her head facing away from him.
Is she blushing? Her leg was almost touching his. Without thinking, he moved his leg further away.
What would Kenma think if he saw this? No, why was he thinking like that? He glanced to where she was sitting. Her smile had faded a tiny bit. As he wanted to say something, the bell rang. Her smile grew back again as she stood up.
"I had a good time eating together!" She said, twinkles in her eyes.
"Oh, uhm. Yeah, it was nice. Thanks again for the food", Kuroo said, again scratching his neck. He felt like he was stumbling over every word he was trying to say. She started walking back towards her own classroom.
"I'll wait for you after your practice!" Kuroo nodded as he headed back to his classroom.
